All out for Nemesis this year and next 🥰

The red veins on the track really do seem to "pop" and look quite prominent in that light. Looking good.
Also the search lights do feed into my theory on what Galactica's re-theme/story might be for next year.
My theory is Galactica is going to be some sort of aerial surveillance of the Nemesis creature, but you are spotted by the monster or phalanx while at the top of the lift-hill, and the rest of the ride is evasive manoeuvres to get back to the base.

Ie the original military theme pre 9/11

I was under the impression that the only reason for the “military themed Air” theory, was that the demo model used off the shelf toy soldiers for scale?
I could be wrong here.

This was my recollection also. I don't remember there being any other references to a military theme. People saw those little soldiers and the idea of a military theme spun out from there. However once the rides original sponsor was announced (Cadbury's Miniature Heroes) there were further theories that those little soliders could have been some link to that.

Looking back at the cancelled concept art and the branding used for the ride even before 9/11 whilst it was under construction, nothing points towards military. This was the poster up at the construction site in April 2001 which uses the 'Air' style branding that the ride opened with. Further suggesting it is unlikely that they were planning on a theme that needed to be changed post 9/11.
