[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation
1) It's a personal opinion.Calling Icon world class should invalidate any argument...
P.S. Going to Florida isn't exactly the most horizon expanding trip...
2) At least I've experienced parks outside the uk so I have a little more to compare nemesis with.
Maybe I do take nemesis for granted as I do ride it often. On the front or back (particularly at night) is admittedly amazing, but anywhere else is average

Love the ride from start to finish but the first helix and the zero g role over the station is just incredible.
Bloody hell craving a ride on it now and have to wait til next year.

I always laugh when I see the reactions of US coaster enthusiasts coming off Nemesis. They are typically blown away by the intensity. It packs a real punch compared to it's US counterparts.
To me it's still the best coaster in the UK. Icon is good also and up there but not quite there. Smiler is also a great coaster we take for granted. In fact if it wasn't for those infamous jolty last few inversions it would rank incredibly high in my top coasters lift as the rest of the ride is insane quite honestly.

Call me 'Ethan' by all means but the Batman clones are much more intense than Nemesis, in my (unpopular?) opinion.I always laugh when I see the reactions of US coaster enthusiasts coming off Nemesis. Those two elements are some of the best few seconds of ride on any coaster I have ridden up there along with the drop into zero g stall on wildfire and the huge drop into inane airtime hill on Hyperion

They certainly pack a punch with their tight turns. However I was more comparing it to the larger scale inverts in the US. The compact nature of Batman clones make them intense by default. I have ridden quite a few of them and can confirm they are excellent.
I love B&M's though in general. Best coasters overall by far in my humble opinion.

Can you stop rubbishing and comparing poor Nemmy. Is it just me that finds Rita's launch much more intense than any part on nemesis

Raptor is more intense than Nemesis. Felt like my feet were gonna get ripped off.
Funny thing is I wasn't even joking. The launch on rita imo is stupidly intense. I don't ride it often cus I don't find the launch comfortable. Can you stop rubbishing and comparing poor Nemmy.![]()

It’s a different sort of intense though. It’s all over in two seconds. Whereas Nemesis keeps it up for the whole ride and has variety of inversions and helixes and G-forces.

Does anyone know what year the queue line by the stall turn next to Galactica stopped being used?
Just curious because I watched a very old clip on YouTube of a guy being interviewed on a TV show up there.

I believe Virtual Queue (as it was called back then) was introduced on Nemesis in 2001. This was also the time Air was being constructed meaning the section of queue line near the stall turn was too close to the construction and coaster itself.
So it was most likely 2000 when that section was last used.

Nemesis had VQ in 1999, as well as at the end of the 98 season. At that point, the only way you were able to ride was with a ticket. Which initially caused some fuss. I think the Disney style 'return time' in unison with the introduction of a standby line was introduced when Air opened, in 2002.
I think the section closed in 1999.

Cheers.
I agree, rip some of the weeds out (not completely bare though). and give the place a sprucing up with a pressure washer!
Speaking of Nemesis, the pit needs some work. Nature is reclaiming it!
