[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

Hopefully but hopefully not as it might loose the iconic roar
My thoughts exactly. Especially these days with the noise complaints. Honestly if it were to be re tracked, if it wasn’t an exact replica then I’d rather them just put it to rest when the time comes.

I speak to co-workers,family and friends and I’m the only one who Still goes to theme parks . Like at work there’s all ages from old who took there Kids to Alton Towers in the 90s but there kids haven’t continued going with there kids. The 18 to 30 odd years old haven’t been since they went on a school trip in the early to mid 00’s with none of the youth never been to Alton Towers. It’s the same with my friends we did regular go away for weekends to Blackpool and Gt Yarmouth drinking and going the pleasure park to about 10 years ago when we all started to have families and there family fun has turned into going the pub at weekends while the kids play on the outdoor play area while the parents enjoy 3 or 4 Alcoholic drinks everyone having fun and the money saved goes on a summer holiday overseas. My daughter been going regularly to Theme Parks since she’s been able to walk with Paultons park been her 1st and she’s been Alton Towers once every year since 2015 with us having a Drayton Annual pass since the start of the 2017 season. She can’t wait to she’s tall enough for Nemesis and the Smiler (currently 1.27m tall)
I do think the Nemesis needs a new update story and NST easily fits into that with the building been closed for 5 years the babies have been staying alive eating the trapped staff and now they escaped and they heading for the Nemesis to try to free her.

The restraints work OK on Swarm, in my opinion. Sure, the tightening is a minor niggle, but I think B&M have solved this with the newer vest restraints, which apparently don’t tighten to anywhere near the same extent as the older ones like on Banshee and Swarm, so I wouldn’t be averse to them being put on Nemesis, personally; they would solve the issue of headbanging on one or two of the inversions.Same if they replace the restraints with vests then they may as well knock the ride down

This is true, as I know Universal kept the old-style restraints when they retracked Hulk, but I think they did replace the trains. I think many are thinking that a retrack and new trains may possibly go hand in hand, as the trains are presumably aged to the same extent as the track.Where has this link between a retrack and vest restraints come from?
New track doesn’t mean new trains.

I’d imagine towers would opt for sand filled track if a full re-track did happen, why would they not. Yes for us enthusiasts it takes away that iconic roar, but it also might make it easier in the future for an addition to forbidden valley with how much the noise would be reduced from the area. And I couldn’t see the coaster itself changing in profile and layout, the pit and near miss elements are designed for the coaster, so it would make no sense for them to change it that way.
Only thing I think could take away from the experience are vest restraints, I don’t see where people
Get headbanging on Nemesis as myself I can ride it perfectly with my head forward and just glide through the elements with little to no jolt, yes it’s ageing now but it’s still smooth as butter for the majority of The layout to me. Speaking of vest restraints though, some can be well fitting it seems and don’t take away from the experience, but I find Swarm’s way to restrictive.

I’d be surprised if many (or any) parts of the trains are original. Parts have been replaced regularly over the years as and when they reach the end of their service life.

Controversial opinion; I wouldn’t mind if Nemesis was retracked with sand-filled track at all. As iconic as Nemesis’ roar is, I think new B&Ms do have a very nice sound in a different way; I absolutely love the lower, more graceful roar that rides like Mako and Swarm have (even something like Galactica has it), and if it makes the ride more enjoyable, then I think the roar is a sacrifice worth making, personally.

As @Matt N said above, Swarms' vest restraints are the older ones. There are newer ones now that don't tighten as much.Speaking of vest restraints though, some can be well fitting it seems and don’t take away from the experience, but I find Swarm’s way to restrictive.

Monster at Gröna Lund is also getting the original OTSR’s, so B&M does seemingly still provide them. The only invert that has them currently is Banshee. Also ozlris, the 3rd newest B&M invert at parc asterix was fitted with the original style otsr’s.

I don’t think sand filled track will have any effect on the ride experience as far as I know apart from the loudness, maybe it would reduce any rattle, but nemesis is that fast trough the elements you wouldn’t feel any rattle anyway. Myself I love that original B&M roar as it is becoming a rare sound nowadays, but Like I say above, if residents make the noise argument, it’s a great loophole.

It's possible that KI specifically asked B&M to put the vest restraints on Banshee, rather than the vest restraints being a general option for that coaster style.Monster at Gröna Lund is also getting the original OTSR’s, so B&M does seemingly still provide them. The only invert that has them currently is Banshee.

I believe the new trains with vest restraints on Banshee are wider than the current trains on Nemesis, so for clearance reasons I don't think they would be added.
Also, Monster at Grona Lund will have the old style invert trains, so B&M are still offering them.

Yep. I remember Tony Clark (Cedar Point’s PR guy) saying that Raptor can’t be fitted with trains with vest restraints as they’re too wide.I believe the new trains with vest restraints on Banshee are wider than the current trains on Nemesis, so for clearance reasons I don't think they would be added

If I remember correctly, they are also heavier too, which would also make them not suitable for Nemmy's compact layout.I believe the new trains with vest restraints on Banshee are wider than the current trains on Nemesis, so for clearance reasons I don't think they would be added.

Yh i agree phew! Nemesis would be ruined with vest restraints and they might as well give it a good send off in it's current intense state rather than a replica!Yep. I remember Tony Clark (Cedar Point’s PR guy) saying that Raptor can’t be fitted with trains with vest restraints as they’re too wide.
Phew.
If nemesis has the required maintenance, then there's no need for them to change the trains or restraints. Nemesis will easily last another 10 years, it's just a case of if towers are willing to spend money on maintenance for itYh i agree phew!
