Excellent news. Great that it seems to be moving forwards despite everything. Very intrigued to discover what'll be and how the country area will be themed (still hoping the Romania/Transylvania rumours are true).
To make a 2023 opening I assume they won't be holding off with site clearing and groundwork until November 2021 so will be interesting to see where they temporarily (should the mazes be receiving permanent homes in the area) move Traumatica and Immer Weider Sonntages.
The confirmation of a second themed area is also intriguing. Are we actually getting 2 areas on the expansion pad behind Greece or is the second the rethemed Adventure Land? Does 5 attractions include rethemes/refurbs/replacements (depending on the extent of the refurb) - Jungle Rafts, NewroMir? Schneeflocken?
Will be an interesting a few years ahead of us...

Anyone thought that one of the two new themed areas could be a retheme like Russia for instance!

Yh that actually seems likely and if i had to put my money on a new country being added, Turkey probably or Cyprus if they want to go there! It'll most likely be 1 new new area and 1 retheme, and if I were a gambling man I'd place money on that being Adventureland.

Chessington's version of Transylvania was stunning in the 90's, would love to see Europa's take on that theme.
Hopefully we get a thrill coaster but can't see it happening tbh.

Finally. I know the fire set them back a year... then no doubt Covid has again! But HERE WE GO PEOPLE!
My hopes would be:
Exciting times. And on that note... this topic can be stickied for the next 3 years.

It feels like they’ve needed a new show venue since Bamboe Baii went and has now returned showless.
Oddly, there has been some entertainment on that stage. That said, I think it was more just impromptu stuff rather than a show. It was always a bit awkward for a show venue anyway - trying to actually dine within 30 minutes of a show starting, or during it - was a no-go.
But they do need a new venue.

Whilst it’s a different park, it would be great to see a substantial show venue that can hold large production shows, in a similar fashion to Teatro Maya/Imperial at PA. Clearly that’s a large budget show in a huge venue, but the closest thing in the park at the moment is the theatre in Italy. Since that theatre alternates between variety and production shows/musicals, it feels like even the park themselves would probably like capacity to hold both simultaneously.

If my memory serves me correctly, that's Roland Mack's actual garden.Do EP own that patch of land in between Ireland and Adventure Land (East of England)? Could get a moderately sized land there if so.

Haha, it would be the world’s best backyard coaster!

They couldn't build a rollercoaster there, as it's too close the village. Indoor attraction(s) could work but to be honest, they have sorted out that side of the park in recent years.
We now have Voletarium, Ireland and the Arthur hall all bordering the village.
It's time to get something new on the other side of the park again - where the big rides can go!

Two new themed areas? Place your bets now, people!![]()
Poland & Czech Republic/Prague - Gothic, Slavic folklore, Alchemy.... lots to go on for thematic ideas!
Poland would make sense being such a close neighbour of Germany, and such intwined history. It might also go some way of attracting more Polish visitors who already visit East German Parks like Plohn and Belantis!

I highly doubt it.I just hope they don't mess around with VR on the coaster.....
Although I'm sure they will, given Michael Macks love for it,
As much as MM loves it, they also know it has its limits and affects capacity massively.

However if you built a ride from scratch I guess you could design it with VR in mind and try and help the throughputs a bit, I guess a bit like they’ve done with can can, multiple stations and a guess a few different pre shows or areas to get ready with the VR.

Out of interest, has it been confirmed that this coaster will be a Mack?
Only asking because they have gotten coasters from other companies before (B&M built Silver Star and GCI built Wodan), so if it hasn’t been confirmed, maybe we shouldn’t rule out something from another company? Like maybe something from RMC?

Yes it's been confirmed as Mack many a time previously.Out of interest, has it been confirmed that this coaster will be a Mack?
As for VR of course building from scratch allows for more freedom to do something different. But what would be different? They have their family VR offering in Alpenexpress and their larger more thrilling with the unique free roaming element offering in Eurosat. How could they make something new and interesting connected to a coaster?
Really other than improvements in technology/headset/film quality I think they've nailed it pretty much. I guess Valerian at some point will get a new film/theme which will bring the latest model of VR headsets with it. No need for another coaster to get fitted out with VR.
Anyway seems they are focusing now on new ways to incorporate VR in the resort like with YULLBE and the upcoming Snorri's Snorkeling.
