[2025] Europa-Park General Discussion

For Efteling you can share your key, but anyone sharing it also needs the app. It’s also not obligatory; you can collect a traditional keycard from reception.

If that’s the system that’s implemented, it’s a great idea, allowing those who want to bypass the sometimes lengthy check-in queues.

According to the hotel app sharing is not yet implemented, but will be. meanwhile everybody can log in to the same account as a workaround.
Also, digital key cards will be available from spring for Apple users and Summer for Android users. I'm android so it might not be live by my visit anyway.

When the pills kick in hard.

EP have shared another video ahead of the start of the season tomorrow:

A bit different to what they usually do, but I think it sums up the magic of the park well!

Also for those who have not yet seen it/don't have Veejoy, the All The New video is also back on YouTube:

Bodega in Spain has been trialing a new mobile order service. QR code at table and order online, spoons affair type thing.

I understand on good authority that this is a test before rolling it out wider, even to the hotel bars. It still has lots of teething issues but it’s the way they’re going.

I also noticed ordering screens in the arena of the football and the burger place next to Euro Mir. I don’t know if these are new or not. It’s not just Merlin these days!

There is also an Ad at the end of Voletarium for Grand Prix of Europe. The advert is better than the main ride 😂

What, after the fireworks have gone off? Doesn’t lend itself to the immersive experience of a flying theatre?

The Arena of Football screens are new this year, the ones at CMAK burgers aren’t.

QR ordering at Bodega was put in place last year, albeit with the old Bodega Burger concept. QR menus have also been used in some of the bars for a few years, like Bar Colosseo.

I think that implementing QR ordering in the hotel bars would certainly be a good idea though, especially in the bars where it’s sometimes difficult to get the attention of a server if you’re in the wrong place (some of the tucked away corners of Buena Vista for example). It would also help with easing the continuing staffing issues EP are dealing with, which seems to have hit the F&B operations hardest.

What I would say though is that is should not be QR only, as that would be exclude some and the interaction with bartenders often adds to the experience of a more upmarket place.

They were running that version of the show at New Year. Personally I had mixed feelings, it was quite a fun and different use of the flying theatre technology but so different in tone from the Voletarium show it didn't really work - just felt like something tacked on to promote the new film. Which is precisely what it is I guess...

Voletarium was the ride I was looking forward to having three generations of my family on and once.. shame if it’s been spoiled!
I wouldn't go that far, the main show is basically the same experience as it always was, you just get that little extra bit at the end. A part of me did think it was kind of fun, I just thought maybe it would have fitted better in a different type of flying theatre show. Certainly not a reason to avoid the ride though!
