[2025] Europa-Park General Discussion

Reminds me of my one and only rollback... on Flying Fish. I imagine it's quite a common occurrence for powered coasters.

The comments on the latest mascots are not complimentary. Europa-Park have actually replied to the criticism, translated below:

Dear Europa-Park community, thank you for your many comments and feedback. We take them seriously and are happy that Ed & Edda are so dear to your hearts! 🥰

The "new design" was very important, among other things, for the further development of Ed & Edda, for example, for our first worldwide movie, GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE, which opens on July 24th. 😊

We understand that the "old" Ed & Edda designs, which you have grown fond of over many years, are deeply rooted in your hearts, but Ed & Edda have experienced many exciting chapters over the past 50 years and have changed their appearance a bit from time to time.

This time, too, it was a new look that, as with any new adventure, may take some getting used to. In the future, Ed & Edda will experience many new stories and continue to evolve – the journey continues, and you're there with us! 🐭

Just when you thought Michael’s fashion photoshoot was the peak of bad Mack decisions…

I can't say I'm a fan of the new versions.... But I couldn't honestly say I cared for the existing ones to begin with. Whatever. It's minimum wage furries. I'm not judging. That's not what I go to the park for, so it doesn't bother me either way.

If anything, I respect the park / the Macks for doubling down and defending their decision.

I like to believe that Snorri is biding his time and gathering power over at Rulantica in order to make a play for control of the main park to free us from the tyranny of the weird mice once and for all

I yearn for the days of the charming style of Ed animation that used to play in the Enchanted Forest cinema.

Of course, that fell victim to the relentless march of Mack IP attempts, with the totally charmless Yomis. I see that has now even been replaced by something else that I can’t quite make out.

Progress is of course good, but i don’t think most people believe this to be progress. If feels more like change for change sake, or even worse, synergy.

Its the human teeth.

Luckily little one met non-creepy Edda this weekend past.

Must say that the RAP equivalent was very good. Majority of rides had a non-step access of some description, with Wodan and Euro-Mir being the main thrill ride offenders (didn't use it on the water rides or Bobsleigh though). Riding Eurosat with the VR guests without VR was interesting as a result. You can get the park card in the hotels rather than on park but can only get it from the same place. However Access Cards are just accepted which is novel.

Still a wonderful park with a bit of lacking in the food department. Need to have some more food options in the bars beyond Bell Rock as don't always want expensive buffet or a proper sit down meal. Though certainly some more options have opened in recent years for sure on park. However finding food at 7pm on Sunday with the park still open for 30 minutes was very difficult.

In terms of new stuff for me, Alpenexpress feels weird but the adventure trail seemed fun. Piraten & Snorri Touren are lovely dark rides at opposite ends of the scale. Volaterium is weirdly edited and the film advert at the end was awkward, great ride system. EDventure is crap with a good ride system. Ireland area is cute (the indoor play area goes on forever though).

Little one really enjoyed the rides she could go on. Lost count of how many times Baaaaaa Express was ridden. Shame a few things are a metre but never mind as reason to go back.

Euro-Mir is the odd one out these days and certainly has to be next on the block. However due to Voltron I can't see an Xtreme Spinner working well, so maybe an update to the regular Spinning coaster with a better layout would be an option. Or bin it all and start again.

Still one of the best parks in the world. And still very close if I prefer it over Efteling. They're very different styles of park.
