[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

I too was a bit confused by the 78ft, but I think others might be right when they say that this could he the height the gondola reaches in operation rather than the “static” height given in the planning application of 18m (~60ft).

I am surprised that the planners allowed a ride that reaches 78ft during operation, though… isn’t that pushing the bounds of what Towers’ tree line height limit allows for?

Tree line height changes across the site.

The gondolas swing doesn’t extend 18ft beyond the arm though, I suspect this is an error.

There can't be a Topspin operational that reaches anywhere near that surely? With a ride cycle typically of 2-3 minutes, plus loading at at least 2 minutes, you're looking at surely 500 at an absolute maximum.
I was genuinely worried when I saw that and was thinking if their expectations for operations are that low. I'd be expecting 800pph as a minimum.

I do wonder what Merlin's expectations are for operations if they quoted 500pph 🤔

I do find it quite strange that a park that *tries* to be the magical one aimed at families has added another dark theme to the mix:

Nemesis: attacked by alien
Sub Terra: attacked by alien
The Smiler: correctional facility
Wicker Man: burned alive
Thirteen: dropped into crypt
Alton Manor: Emily wants to kill her persons / anyone she meets

And now Toxicator: holds you over a pit of acid.

I am looking forward to this one for the ride itself but come on. Can we not lighten things up a bit. I am still on the team of this should definitely be in X-Sector with it's name and design as well.

In my calculations, I can't even get to 500pph!

There are 38 seats on the ride (19 each side), and if you assume a ride cycle lasts 2 minutes and it takes 3 minutes to load and unload, that gives a total number of cycles per hour of 12: 60min / (2min+3min) = 12 cycles per hour.

38 people x 12 cycles = 456 people per hour. Not far off 500 but the only way you can get more is to reduce the cycle time or speed up load and unload.

Don't forget, they're second in the world only to Disney..!

(based on numbers only, across almost 100 properties vs Disney's 6, ignoring guest experience, satisfaction, quality and service, and pretty much everything else that makes Disney...Disney.)

X-sector has never had a theme involving toxic stuff, that has always been valleys vibe.

I agree overall on dark themes, though Valley has had a dark theme since 1994 so I don’t have a problem with this rides theme choice. Do feel at minimum dark forest could do with a new lighter theme (wouldn’t be cheap as thirteen would need stripping back to brick and start again but the ride system would suit a lighter theme).

In fairness Nemesis has been somewhat vindicated after she saved the world from the alien spaceship during the Phalanx Expo. So you are somewhat riding a hero now when you ride Nemesis. A slightly more lighter tone to the story!

I think 3 mins to load/unload is quite extreme, given it appears to use simple restrains (over the shoulders) I think it shouldn't take too long as the raisable platforms will allow people to easily walk past (unlike ripsaw where you had to suffle accross the rows) and should allow for the opps to check the restraints quicker, I think it probably would take about the same time if not less (due to rushes anoying restraints) to load as rush if batched properly

True, and a lot will also depend on whether they will allow guests into the ride area before the previous guests have exited the ride.

The height when the gondola is in full swing is 18m, the height of the actual structure is 13.2m, so it extends 4.8m beyond the structure.

If you add 18m to 5m you get 23m which is 75.5ft, allow for rounding up etc and it sounds right to me.

More anti-hero Godzilla type I'd say honestly...does that mean then the the alien spaceship was King Ghidorah then? Haha

Pfff! Nemesis was only defending her property. What we saw a few months ago was just a lion growling at the circling hyenas, as she chowed down on the still twitching zebra.
... And we're the stripy ones.
She's pure evil and always will be.

I’m intrigued to know how one would theme a Huss Top Spin to anything other than a fairly dark/ominous theme tbh…

“Come ride Princess Plum’s Fantastical Flipping Machine! Spin yourself dizzy with magic and love!”

Bwahahahaha!!

I think the least-dark thing I can think of, is some kind of crazy Wallace and Grommet style home made salad spinner (maybe to feed a giant were-rabbit?)
... Which isn't a million miles off Ripsaw spinning you to "detox" you, now that I write it out. Looks like we had a happy themed topspin after all! 🤣
