[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

On second look, you’re right on the fountains Dave - they do cover pretty much the entire length.

I’m not sure how much AV effects are going to add in the daylight, and equally I’m not convinced that’s a reason for the decoration to be so basic. There’s no richness or depth of detail at all.

Audio and the screens as well as any well planned lighting can make a big difference. I agree with you I would have liked more on the ride though, even if it was just painted decoration rather than physical theming to give it a bit more depth.

The comments on towers Facebook post are pretty relentlessly negative, mostly along the lines of 'it's just ripsaw' and 'still nothing new this year'. And that is from their general visitors, not the cynical enthusiast community. I wonder if they'll be regretting this being the first flat they went for after the long period of nothing but rethemes and Nemesis rebuild, rather than something more original? This doesn't feel very positively marketable right now.

Its Facebook. The place where people moan for the sake of moaning,

Fact is old Becky who last visited in the late 90’s isn’t their target audience. I have no doubt this will be a success with the young/teens.

Don't forget it seems to be the fashionable thing at the moment to slate anything Towers does, good or bad. Stick this exactly as it is in Paultons and it would be the best thing since sliced bread.

As I said before, people have been crying out for Ripsaw to come back since it was scrapped 10 years ago, now they have effectively brought it back, people are complaining that it's "just Ripsaw". Towers can't win.

It will still be a special come the summer. I just wish they had more than one flat ride opening this season other areas of the park are looking very bare.
Give them time. Don't forget its not just the initial cost of the ride to take into consideration. There's the added energy bills, added maintenance costs, added staffing costs, added training costs etc that will required every year once the ride is installed.

Has the book opened for bets on how long the day 1 queues are going to be? I imagine "extensive" will be the buzzword

Come to think of it, how long even is the queueline? Does it have capacity for 2 hours worth of guests?

The Annual Pass pages recently have been a torrent of negativity. So doesn't surprise me that the wider audience are always sticking the knife in as well.

To the masses it's the same ride type after the park advertised Nemmie as new. Not the best look.

Not a fan of the look they’ve gone for at all. Each end of the gondola just screams “funfair” with the steel and green colouring. I’ll reserve full judgement until it’s open obviously as we’ve still got a few weeks of final tweaking and finishing touches to apply (hopefully!).

I can’t say I’ve ever looked into a top spin in detail but under the seats, do I spot speakers or are these fans to keep mechanical parts cool?

Those social media commentators are not the general public, it’s mostly geeks spamming the post.

I’m not saying what you suggest isn’t a risk but the spam on these posts are not evidence of it as they are mostly semi-coordinated grumpy geeks.

In the eyes of many geeks and vloggers, Towers/Merlin will never do anything right ever again because their name does not begin with a U...
