[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

I know there was some previous debate about where the op cabin was - it certainly does look like its in the tank closest to the shop as there are what appears to be open windows and a door in the photos posted to socials

Don't quite understand the SRQ on this ride? If you're pre-batched like Cobra/Rush, there's only going to be 1 or 2 per side each ride (out of 38).
I'd say it is a good thing that there's an SRQ so that the empty seats are filled and the single riders that would be in the main queue would instead be in the SRQ so the park can sort out batching more efficiently.

I'd argue that Rush, Vortex and Storm Surge are the rides that need an SRQ the most. Kobra would be good to have an SRQ but it might happen when Minecraft opens.

I was not anticipating a SRQ purely due to how ill-suited the ride is to one. The average number of people batched from SRQ per cycle will be somewhere around 1 (in fact a good batcher might be able to ensure there is almost never more than 1), it'll probably almost always be quicker for single riders just to use the main queue.

Though maybe in the future when they come up with another different type of queue they could repurpose SRQ.

I'm thinking it won't be more than 1 (maybe at a push or on occasion 2) per side to be honest.

At Europa Park, Voletarium, the Flying Theatres has a SRQ and I'd say that would be similar in terms of batching and gaps to Toxy.

..It’s.

It’s the thought that counts.

I would agree, there could easily be 3+ per cycle, imagine if they have 4 spaces left (2 on each side), and have groups of 3, 4, 5 for the next couple of groups, they would need more, I would argue this is likely, as often on rita they can struggle to find a group of 2 to fill the seats (although they can often look over the queue so they can go back quite far)

Great that it has single rider and some screens with some green graphics on them.

That way, the under 1.4mtr height kids can be bored, stood in front of the empty Blade pit, for 43 less seconds less than they otherwise would have been whilst their parents take it in turns to stand in a 2+ hour queue plus breakdowns chomping on a £20 sawdust burger.

Eat your heart out Phantasialand. Fire effects and a mix of attractions suitable for all the family has nothing on some flashy green lights and a concrete underpass leading from an empty site where a ride used to be, to a randomly "themed" and tame B&M flyer covered in algae.

Remember though the SRQ isn't actually made to benefit single riders. It's a way for the park to ensure every seat is occupied. The fact that it usually also reduces the wait time for people riding alone is just a happy bonus that ensures the line is always in use.
From the parks perspective even if only 1 person from that line gets on each cycle It's still serving its intended purpose. That might mean that there's only 10 people in the SRQ however the wait time is the same as the main queue. That's not an issue for the park, just something single riders have to be aware of when choosing which line to enter (the main queue is always an option if the SRQ is longer).

I do find it absolutely mad that a topspin has 4 separate queue lines.

For the coasters 100% understand a SRQ and would use them frequently. But this makes absolutely no sense. It'd be like putting a single rider queue on Hex.
I'd say it's like having one on Samurai in a way, it's reducing the risk of empty seats

I do feel the idea of 4 queue lines is madness though.

I do think putting an SRQ on some flats can he helpful such as Rush or Vortex but think that Toxicator is an interesting decision.

I do wonder why Merlin policy has pivoted back towards adding SRQs in. I believe in my opinion these were axed last time in favour of adding mainly dedicated Fast Track and/or RAP queues as Merlin felt that these needed their own dedicated queues either together or separately. Cuts may have also contributed as well.

I believe there is a double purpose behind the SRQs. One as an insurance policy for the park to ensure every seat is filled and another to make the queuing experience better and quicker for those who are legitimately riding alone, is the only person riding in their party or don't mind riding separately for a slightly quicker queue.

The only issue that could arise would be groups (especially kids) thinking it's a fast track queue. It's fine if they don't mind riding alone however it does make the SRQ longer for everyone else and the annoying thing is them trying to ride together or pushing in to get back to their group after leaving the queue.

I think the quickness of a single rider queue is very much a double edged blade that depends on how much of the queue is individuals and how much is groups. Something that non-enthusiasts may not necessarily be aware of.
