Thankfully? I think that looks awful compared to the purple...

Maybe "it looks awful compared to the purple..," because it's quite a dramatic change that we're not used to.

I'm sure we'll get used to it before long. Personally i'd have preferred the purple too!

On a tangential note do Merlin have a policy this year on smart specs? Everywhere seems to be going through a flurry of banning the things but can't recall if Merlin have said anything about them.

They modified lots of boards to include them last year though enforcement tended to only be on rides where glasses aren’t permitted.

I agree; yellow is my favourite colour, but the corkscrews will look awful with it.

Also, as per this post from @AT86, I thought they weren't allowed to paint it in a bright colour?

I believe the planners wanted it darker, so it couldn’t be seen from outside the park.

They settled on the corporate colours of the park of purple and gold.

Psh, if there's not a NOTAM they can pound sand, that sign is probably as enforceable as those old "no ball games" ones you used to get in green spaces on council estates. They're still really upset by the people who "spied" on Nemesis' construction aren't they.

There's no explicit policy covering glass holes "smart" glasses. There remains the specific policy about filming of any description on rides:
Filming and photography on all rides and attractions is strictly prohibited unless otherwise specified. Go pro (or any other handheld recording device including mobile phone and video camera) use is not permitted onboard rides and attractions.
I'm sure that many a corneal creep surveillance spectacle wearer will attempt to argue that their optic predators cameras aren't "handheld", but neither is a body worn GoPro and they're still not permitted either.

My fear is that those who wear glasses straps so that they can actually see may eventually find that they're no longer permitted, due to the nose bridge peepers those abusing a loophole.

Off topic but i did enjoy reading non-thoosie Facebook posts etc of people going to Qiddiya hoping to wear them. Illegal over there and get confiscated on entry despite the Ray Ban shop at the airport selling them…

On topic that yellow is certainly a choice isn’t it

At Towers there are no rides where you're not permitted to wear glasses. As long as you have <ahem> a strap on, you're fine. The only ride I've seen where the ride op communicates with the host doing the restraints check is Rita. Numerous occasions I've heard the op ask the host over the tannoy about if I have a strap on. Once they see it, they're fine with the glasses.

I absolutely hope that does not happen. They will annoy/alienate A LOT of their guests if they did that, including me. I suspect they'd just ask the hosts to be more vigilant when checking the restraints and train them to look out for these glasses.

Interesting- ride lineup for the buyout days is announced and 13, oblivion and RMT is missing. But. Unlike 13 and Oblivion - RMT is removed from the latest app map. Might be something. Might be nothing

It’s worded as including ( lists all other rides except what you have mentioned) so it doesn’t mean that 100% they are closed closed more just not confirmed 100%

Given I’m attending and my girls are to big for ceebibies and not big enough for 1.3m+ rides it’s disappointing to see two family coasters on the not confirmed list, I would have also liked to have seen Congo open , but you know every year the rapids seasons get shorter and shorter

Rapids isn't going anywhere just yet, the queue line fences have had been replaced over the closed season.
Is it me or has there been a lot more non-ride maintenance this off season than the last few years? (this, Corkscrew, Rita, the frogs, and I’ve seen a video of another ride being pressure washed)

I believe there's been more documentation of non-ride maintenance during this off season, than there has been for the past few years. That's not to say that previously the work wasn't being completed, just that this year's had more "leaks" or people snapping and sharing pics.

It's been a long one...

The pictures above show the Corkscrews with the paint stripped off, as seen elsewhere. Do we have yellow confirmed or are people assuming it's that?

The picture that @Haz posted a few pages back shows fresh bright yellow paint being applied to the far end.
