2026: General Discussion

My unpopular opinion of the day is that I don’t like that at all!

I thought it used to look quite classy in the brand purple and gold, but I don’t think the yellow goes with the rest of the plaza.
My guess is that AT realise that purple probably looks better than yellow (hence why they chose purple in the first place), but they have been on a nostalgia kick since around COVID (and/or when John Burton took over), and so they reverted to the original colour for that reason alone.

But perhaps I am wrong (as per).

It might have made more sense to repaint it yellow in 2020 rather than 2026, as it was the 40th anniversary of the ride.

(hence why they chose purple in the first place)
As explained by others earlier, the purple was the result of planning restrictions.
I believe the planners wanted it darker, so it couldn’t be seen from outside the park.

They settled on the corporate colours of the park of purple and gold.
There has been 16/17 years of tree growth since this was originally moved to the plaza. Concern about it being seen from outside the park could be mitigated by the extra cover this would give.

But not a fan of those security tents obscures the view of the Towers, Towers Street and Monorail overhead

Could install one of these at the monorail exit. Added bonus of the increased radiation will reduce MAP uptake and create shorter queue times for all.

I think the colour decision is quite tricky. They pretty much have two options:

1. Blend it in so it matches the location and brand with purple and gold, but ignores its history as Corkscrew

2. Go all in on ride nostalgia with the original yellow, but knowing that it will look slightly out of place in location.

Practically impossible to cover both options.

Well they could've done one loop yellow, the other purple. Or painted alternating support rungs yellow and purple 🤣

Although I never rode Corkscrew nor remember seeing it in the late 2000's, looking at pictures area of Ug Land looked so much better with Corkscrew present especially when Rita was new alongside. And the area had Ug Swinger and Soakasaurus

Do any of you think Corkscrew removal was a mistake when it could of been refurbished like Python was at Efteling
Think with Efteling given the issues they had with planning permission building it initially they were probably worried if they removed it to build a replacement they'd never get planning permission, so the track replacement instead was something they could definitely do without falling foul of the planning regulations.
