Bear Grylls Adventure Birmingham and LDC Birmingham
Glad to see more development happening around the NEC, definitely lots of potential in the area as it's well connected by trains from Birmingham/Coventry and relatively easy to reach by car.
Skydive centre looks interesting but not so sure about the high ropes. With Go Ape not that far away by car thr NEC is hardly feels inspiring place for some high ropes.

Merlin have released a planning application (see here) on the 30th of January.

Looks well themed, Maybe Merlin have set exterior standards since building DBGT at the moment. Until budget cuts, it looks promising to say the least.
EDIT: The words 'Inspiring Adventures' can be seen on the front of the building could this be the name of Project Thor? Or just a tag line.

These IPs are getting bizarre... how long until the Noel Edmonds multi-route dark ride gets constructed?

This is a little weird; like a pop-up attraction on a huge budget. Or indeed, something like the old Action Man Assualt Course at nineties Chessington. Working with personal IPs is high-risk business. Merlin must be very certain their aren't any skeletons in Grylls' closet. I suppose if anyone can dump a body in the woods, it's him!

I hear they are now after Dale Winton for a supermarket themed indoor attraction sponsored by Kwik Save.
BEAR GRYLLS!?!?!?
ARE THEY TAKING THE REFRESHING BEVERAGE!?!?!?!?!?
this looked quite interesting...then they announced that you can't use MAP...so...why should I go here, instead of GoApe?
The Bear Grylls theme? What, will the toilets be themed like a pub?
Jokes and drink taking...HA!...aside, I suspect this won't be as successful as they are expecting.
For one thing, who gives a toss about bear grylls now-a-days?

It isn't a church where people go and pray to him... it's an activity course with his name stuck on it for that extra bit of brand awareness. Due to the limited amount of admission slots per day, I'd imagine they'll fill them up with somewhat relative ease.
In all honesty, I just wanted an excuse to make wee drinking jokes! It isn't a church where people go and pray to him... it's an activity course with his name stuck on it for that extra bit of brand awareness. You'd be surprised how popular Bear Grylls is. He has tons of shows on different networks, and a lot of my family watch his shows (myself excluded).BEAR GRYLLS!?!?!?

On a side note, has anything else come out about the Legoland Discovery Centre?
