This isn't a thread for Hemsby fun park, so how can it be about the UK's premier amusement park?

Fun, a new BPB thread! I wonder what wonders we can fill this one with?

I’ll get the ball rolling with my personal Pleasure Beach coaster ranking, which might be controversial:
    1. Icon
    2. Avalanche
    3. Revolution
    4. Nickelodeon Streak
    5. Big Dipper
    6. Big One
    7. Blue Flyer
    8. Grand National
    9. Steeplechase
    10. Infusion

Blue Flyer better than Nash and only one step below The Big One? I’ve heard it all now! I firmly agree with Pukefusion in last place though.

What’s with the closure of the old topic? Is there a 500 page limit or something? I guess as per @Rick pie chart, it means we can do entry prices, Mouse, Big One sandbags, fast / slow trains, why can’t Streak have a second train, etc, all over again.

And @rob666 can have a fresh moan about the Rev steps

Actually in broad agreement with Matt N in terms of ranking the Pleasure Beach coasters, Wild Mouse (first mention in the new thread!) was some way out in front of the others for me. The best of what remains (Icon and Avalanche) are just 'good' and 'consistent'.
    1. Icon
    2. Avalanche
    3. Big Dipper
    4. Grand National
    5. Revolution
    6. Streak
    7. Blue Flyer
    8. Big One
    9. Infusion
    10. Steeplechase
Those ranked below Blue Flyer I actively dislike and would never choose to ride, although I do value Big One and Steeplechase from a historical perspective.

It would be unfair to the other coasters to list something as amazing as Ghost Train

North Park feels really dead these days. Especially with Valhalla shut. Flyers close in high winds (not sure they used to for that reason in pay per ride days!) and just one coaster.

My last visit had Flyers, Valhalla and Nash shut iirc, and didn't recall Ice Blast running for most of the day. You could walk from the entrance to River Caves without seeing an operating ride.

I’m just not really a fan of really rough, uncomfortable rides. As much as I’ll admit that Grand National has a fabulous layout, and I can appreciate why so many like it, it just personally offers me far too much of a beating for me to really enjoy it. My last ride felt like I was properly getting beaten up, and I was towards the front of the train. I know you should never expect a 1930’s wooden coaster to be fully smooth, but Grand National and to a lesser extent Big Dipper are a bit too much roughness for me to handle, personally.

I also find that Steeplechase is very uncomfortable as well; it reminds me a bit of a wild mouse coaster, which I’ll admit that I’m also not a huge fan of in general. I’m not really sure that the odd riding position helps, either. I can understand why someone might like Steeple, as it certainly offers a unique novelty, but it’s not for me, personally.

All I can say about Infusion is that even though it looks nice, I’m afraid it offered me what is quite comfortably my least favourite coaster ride I’ve ever had, by a fair margin. The headbanging was just relentless, and it felt like every part of my body was in pain when I got off, which is a shame, as it looks so pretty, and the SLC layout is not a bad one at all!

Big One and Big Dipper are inhibited in my rankings for similar roughness related reasons, but not to quite the same extent, which is why they still manage to rank above Blue Flyer. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I have a pretty low roughness tolerance, so rough stuff will likely place lower for me than it does for most. Besides, I actually remember Blue Flyer being kinda fun for a kids woodie!

Don't think I've ever done a PB ranking so:
    1. Icon (yes even though I'm not a massive fan, I still think's its the best of this list)
    2. Big One
    3. Avalanche (controversial but I really enjoy this)
    4. Revolution
    5. Big Dipper
    6. Grand National
    7. Nickelodeon Streak
    8. Steeplechase
    9. Blue Flyer
    10. Infusion

You mean the only ride you do in North Park is the worst ride they have got!!

I can see why you find queues a problem if you are limiting what you ride by that much.

Lots of classics to do in North Park. All part of the fun.

Anyway my top 10 PB coasters....

    1. Wild Mouse - yes I know it is currently NSANO but they just need to replace all the wood and track and it will be as good as new. There's a nice space for it where the new Hub bar is that they rarely use.

    2. Big One - best operating coaster in the uk

    3. Icon

    4. Avalanche

    5. Steeplechase

    6. Nick Streak

    7. Big Dipper

    8. Revolution

    9. Infusion

    10. Blue Flyer

    11. Grand National

    NSANO...love it!
Big One best operated...on a calm day, when it isn't very busy, midweek.
    Otherwise, forget it.

I have heard down the grapevine that BPB decided to sell their shares in Pasaje Del Terror...

Is this true? And if so, what does it mean? I know they didn't operate it anyway, but I wonder if it's days are numbered if the rent has risen? In days of yore, it would enjoy constant foot traffic, but now that BPB sees people leaving and arriving in much shorter timeframes, surely that leaves those holding the chainsaw with little to do for the most part.

On a similar note, here's some footage from the Horror Bar, shortly after it opened in 1999.
