Aren't you usually the one telling the UK parks that they ought to be charging much higher prices, and that they're leaving money on the table?£250!!! That's crazy "Disney tour" kind of price. I'd at least expect a park ticket and Speedy "everything". I'm sure people will pay it, but at that price you just open yourself up to negative reviews. And ONE ride - should be unlimited FP rides, so you can "re-imagine" the walk-through.
I think this inadvertently hits the nail on the head. The walk, or behind the scenes, is inevitably going to end up on YouTube, at which point even thoosies will just watch a video.Coaster Dads vlog of the walk the big one xl was that good I felt I didn’t need to go on it after viewing. I think I’ll wait for his Valhalla video.
There's a very niche audience, in the first instance, who would be interested; the audience is likely to be price blind to the offer, regardless; it demands a high price.
I personally think it's overpriced and not worth it, but I wouldn't have actually been interested in attending the event anyway.

I totally agree with this, as someone who is very interested in dark rides, if i could have made the date, I would have blindly purchased this without a second thought on the price.
I only post the most exciting park updates, so today's is no exception...
String line has appeared on the Grand Prix site, it appears to consist of a pathway to the fountain, a circle around the fountain itself, and a small path to where Icon's speedy queue lives. There's also a branch off it to the learning garden.

I reckon you could make it into a garden with ability to add a ride in at some point if you put in some pinpoints for footersI only post the most exciting park updates, so today's is no exception...

For that price I could have re-built half of the the Wild Mouse via the gift shop!
You obviuosly haven't seen the prices in there recently....For that price I could have re-built half of the the Wild Mouse via the gift shop!
Small cubes for thirty to fifty quid, so you would only get about a metre or so of four by four support timber for that.

I think it comes to a point when you just have to admit that the game is up. As people have rightly pointed out, the park went through bad times when the non rider pass was dirt cheap so this isn't the golden goose to save them anyway.
Ultimately their product just isn't as good as it was. They haven't invested frequently enough or well enough to keep themselves relevant and the industry has left them behind. And as a Manchester United season ticket holder I know all about an organization being left behind by not investing well enough. Almost the opposite problem to Blackpool though as we've had the cash and have thrown a lot of it away.
In 31 years since the Big One opened they have opened one major coaster and had another one moved over from Southport which was never good to begin with. How is that acceptable for a major park?
Alton Towers have built 7 brand new thrill coasters, 1 junior coaster and also completely rebuilt Nemesis in that same time frame.

Not sure these have been the roaring success you think they have though. We're talking 31 years here too.
Valhalla - a fantastic attraction in solation but probably not appropriate for the Blackpool climate. It's cost the park way too much money to run.
Nick Land - Pretty decent addition for a kids area and better than what they had there to begin with. I will let this one slide.
Bling - Didn't last long. Been gone ages.
SkyForce - Hasn't lasted long and not operating this year. Wasn't massively popular either.
Ultimately it just hasn't been enough and some of their choices haven't made much sense.
We should give it over to @rob666 or the Golden @GooseOnTheLoose to run. When companies start reducing marketing and dumping/erratic pricing, you know they're on the ropes. Not sure Mandy will ever let it go until forced.

Rites of passage for independent young northerners.
Another new microgeneration every few years...who lap it all up again.
They serve fresh grockles every day in Crevettes, they have no need to import them from Devon or Cornwall.

Feels very much like the Gyro Swing is their last attempt at a comeback. The last trump card they have to play if you will. If it doesn't significantly improve attendance over next few seasons, then I think the writing is on the wall and the time to seek new investment will finally be here.
If they'd have made Icon just a bit more memorable and marketable with an impressive element and had added the Gyro Swing earlier than 2026 then there may have still been a chance at rescuing the place. It all just feels a bit too late but happy to eat my words if I'm wrong.
I want to see PB in the hands of somebody with deeper pockets as there's still potential here to make something great.
