Someone probably realised they'd been paying £25 a week for years on end, for a skip to sit there doing nothing

to me the colour scheme is very similar to the big one

When I first heard the price, I'd hoped that it was possibly a brand new custom-built gyro swing that would be taller than all of the others available elsewhere - but, according to the spec sheet, it looks like it might be identical to Loke.Fantastic news. Love the graphic. Nearly £9m though?! Is that the going rate for flats these days? I hope it’s good value for money![]()
I have no idea why the overall cost is so high (besides ground-work, et cetera); part of me wonders if there might be a second ride included as well (as part of Project 2026), but I am probably wrong.

Although the ride itself will cost a pretty penny, it'll be the total cost of the project, some of which will be for the ride. Legal fees, installation fees, marketing fees, design fees, any ground / preparation / construction costs, theming, fees associated with testing and commissioning, initial health and safety inspections etc. When I first heard the price, I'd hoped that it was possibly a brand new custom-built gyro swing that would be taller than all of the others available elsewhere - but, according to the spec sheet, it looks like it might be identical to Loke.

Plus new Land Rovers for all the familySeeing as the parks built on reclaimed beach they always have to go really deep with putting in the footers for any rides so I'd imagine that's more costly than at most other parks. Plus the extra surveying they'd need to do.

Obviously need a new land rover to put the project 2026 tyre cover over the spare tyre.Plus new Land Rovers for all the family

Also remember that an asbestos removal company came in to decontamination the building, that would've been expensive

It’s great they are trying to navigate the bad press with a statement but when you advertise tickets that either aren’t available on the website or cost more that two separate tickets it does more harm than good. The Nickelodeon ticket isn’t even available for main Easter week. The £62 two day pass is also not on sale. But it’s only £30 for one day so pointless anyway. It is on sale for this weekend but for £72 when an adult tickets is £35. So again pointless. They really need to sort this out and fast if they want a good season as they are doing more harm than good at the minute
The £49 two day Nickelodeon pass is none extant for any day but with only a pound saving what’s the point really - assuming you can actually buy a one day pass

Nice little video from the pleasure beach regarding changes to the park
From: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DH_bLiiPW_l/?igsh=MWFraXpvZnU3ZHozYg==
Highlights are the gondola is back on Launch Pad now the scaffolding is down.
And the next gyro swing announcement will be its name.
I'm hoping for Swingy McSwingface.

I want to see a swingers club sponsor the new ride
Well if there is a belongings cage like on Ice Blast, you may be able to put your ‘keys in a bowl’ before riding
Good that they’ve brought in self service E-ticket printers, and finally acknowledged that not everyone wants to have to fiddle about with their phone at the turnstile. Are they actually listening to advice at long last?!

Haven't they already sponsored a ride at Blackpool?

Not that i know anything about Blackpool swingers clubs (or swingers clubs anywhere)
It would appear so:

Boulevard hotel in Blackpool has scooped three awards at the 2024 World Luxury Hotel Awards ceremony in Galgorm, Northern Ireland.
The wins include: Best Luxury Lifestyle Hotel (United Kingdom), Best General Manager (Northern Europe) and for the second year running Best Luxury Hotel (Northern Europe), which were voted for by real luxury travellers.
Nominations are evaluated based on service delivery, luxury and presentation, as well as consistent feedback from guests, before being determined eligible. The awards, now in their 18th year, are then voted for by more than 300,000 guests and industry players.
Other UK hotels awarded include The Ritz Hotel, London, The Caledonian, Edinburgh, and The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa.
Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Boulevard hotel said: “We opened Boulevard with the hope of introducing something rather unique to Blackpool, a truly luxurious hotel.
“Being able to add these awards to the hotel’s roster is a massive achievement – especially officially being Northern Europe’s Best Luxury Hotel for a second year running. A huge thanks to Klaus and all of the team who work so hard. And of course, thanks to all of our wonderful guests for voting for us.”
The £12 million Boulevard hotel opened in 2019 with 120 stylish room, all with either coastal vistas or direct views of the rides and rollercoasters at Pleasure Beach. Rooms feature bespoke artwork, complemented by materials sourced from renowned British companies, including handmade furniture by Tetrad, Designers Guild fabrics and wall coverings by Andrew Martin.
Boulevard Hotel in Blackpool wins three in the World Luxury Hotel Awards
The accolades include Britain’s Best Luxury Lifestyle Hotel and Northern Europe’s Best Luxury Hotel for the second time.

They will have paid to register for the award through one of the specialist publications.
All the rage nowadays.
Meaningless drivel by a private company.
"World Luxury Hotel Awards" doesn't take much googling.
I can think of at least a dozen higher quality hotels within thirty miles of the park.
Trade awards, get nominated (by absolutely anyone) pay your few grand, tear off your certificate.
Not quite that easy, but there tends to be lots of regional winners, in an awful lot of categories, over a wide spread of regions.
About as realistic as Valhalla being the best dark ride in the world.
My dentist is dentist of the year for the north, again.
The award trophies can be purchased direct from the site for £650, plus another £150 for "shipping".
So your award costs eight hundred quid, plus "registration" etc.
Just been local googling, no Blackpool hotel hits the top ten luxury hotels in the north west, all the ones I expected are there, including Stanley House, Northcote and Gibbon Bridge.
I'm pretty sure that those three all have grounds larger than the Beach as well!
All are far superior to the mandy Hotels, though they do charge considerably more.
