Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2026 Discussion

Come on Dippy, you have to go on the shiny new spinny...

Free kebab!

Looking forward to a new season now.

Even if it is just to watch the park slowly fall apart from Crevettes balcony.

Who thinks they will reopen the River Caves?

I hope they do, because of it being very close to the new ride.

,,,and by coincidence, the Beach turns up as I type this on the telly..."Stay Close", murder mystery series.

Better start thinking about a season pass.

Here is the shiny new topic for BPB chat. Doesn’t seem like it will be a very exciting season, especially for those of us who don’t like flat rides.
That new flat is the best flat ride offered to parks Intamin Gyro Swinge are excellent and flat rides are important

It may be good for what it is, but it strikes me as a real Marmite ride. Generally people either like these kind of rides or they don’t. It will probably be good for the park, but I can’t see it bringing in a load of extra punters. I have a strong dislike of this type of ride, I suspect others will too.

Im not a big flat ride fan either. However the two I like the most are the Gyro swings and the Screaming Swings mostly because the airtime is great. Also the spinning type flat rides make me feel very ill.

Im going to be visiting for the first time in 3 years. I dont think it will be enough to save PB but its definitely a solid addition.

I personally feel that people who typically do not like gyro swing type rides will enjoy this one. It really is the best of it's category. The rotation doesn;t make you feel ill (well it didn't for me) as it's mainly there to change your viewpoint rather than make you dizzy, and the pure power of the motor to swing you is unbeaten by other models.

I think people should at least try it once and i'm positive a lot of people will come round to enjoying it!

I’m not a flat ride person but I did Loke before all of the Pleasure Beach fans get to ride a Gyroswing, for the bragging rights.

Oh my gosh, it was unbelievably fun, that and Kraftverket are such fun rides, particularly how free Loke is and the range of forces without being too much. It’s brilliant and I can’t wait for Aviktas with the Irish Sea wind hitting my face!

Exactly as I said above! Soooo pleased you enjoyed it! I hope everyone has that "OMG How great is this" moment if they try Aviktas!

Realistically what attractions have a meaningful impact on attendance? Big coasters and IP I would say.

But you can’t realistically do that every year. As far as additions go this has a decent USP by UK standards. It’s a spectacle people can enjoy watching as well and will get the park some much needed positive publicity so in that regard I think it’s a solid investment. Sometimes the public need reminding you exist.

Ahhhhhhh 2026. The year they announce The Wilder one.

A 500ft 15 inversion intamin vertical launch tower coaster. (try saying that with a mouth full off cheese.)

Stylised around the return off a dead rodent. Which has been genetically modified to make it bigger and wilder than ever before...

I'm allowed to dream.

Anyone good on planet coaster.?

Off topic i know, but why does BPB have a 2025 and a 2026 topic when other parks just have one topic that's continuous? The inconsistency is confusing me

The main Alton Towers general discussion topic has yearly threads too but you're right, i don't think any other parks do. Perhaps these 2 are the most popular?

Makes sense for Alton as this is primarily an Alton discussion forum.

The concept of having yearly threads doesnt even make sense as the 2025 one is locked. What if someone wanted to chat about 2025 at BPB?

It appears that the mods are not intending for discussion about those years in those threads but each one to be "that years discussion". I feel like each park should just have their own thread with no split years? So what is a thread gets super long? Each post has a date for people to find the start of each years discussion.

Sorry, rant over, don't want to hijack the discussion.

I could see avikatas going both ways,

a big benifit is it is "free" advertising, like how the big one and infusion are easily viewable from outside the park, I would imagine this should be too acting as a massive advertisment that they have new rides, given they are in a holiday town where impulse descisions are quite likely (unlike alton where you have to go out of your way to visit)

it also is probably going to be a nice new ride to in 2026,

however I am wondering after 10 years with no new rides, the state of some rides, high cost of entry etc will people come back or is it too little too late

I don't think the entry cost (when booked in advance) is particularly high. Currently around £35. It's the £50 gate price at a park with a lot of potential walk up trade that is the issue.

£35 seems like reasonable value. £50 doesn't.

Yeah I was more talking about walk up price, for a family of 4 it is like £200 (or £140 if the parents buy the walk arround pass) (although for a holiday even with prebooking, at £35 it would total £140, potrentially a bit too much for an impulse spend)

Don't blame the mods, blame me and dippy...we started them.

Don't ask me why...festive drinking??!

And even though it is an alton site, the topic for last year runs to ninety pages...if you want to nit pick over what somebody said ages ago, in contrary/disputatious fashion...as we often do...it makes locating past comments easier.

And you can discuss last years park failures in this year's topic quite easily, nobody will kick you out for discussing last year this year, in this topic.

Wonder if my dodgems will come back this year...as we have still had "no news" on their closure...

I won't be holding my breath.

And things don't always make sense on here...the Ride Access Pass topic is stuck in 2024.
