Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Ah right. So it's not a particularly accurate indicator of whether those 6,000,000 people actually bought wristbands and/or spent money on Blackpool's rides, and is literally the amount of people who walked through the site in 2006. Would probably explain why BPB suddenly vanished from the top 20 in about 2008, then, as I believe that's about when the entrance fee was introduced. Thanks @Rob and @AT86!
 
Got a reply from BPB, the following attractions will close at 9pm due to the fireworks exclusion zone:

-ICON
-The Big One
-Skyforce
-Steeplechase
-Gallopers
-Avalanche
-Big Dipper
-Infusion
-Grand Prix
-Pleasure Beach Express
-Nickelodeon Streak

Revolution may or may not close at 9pm, dependent on wind speeds.
 
So... everything that's outdoors except Ice Blast and National?

Velvet Coaster will be rammed.
 
Yeah, looks like rides open until 10pm will be Nickelodeon Land (excluding Streak), Wallace & Gromit, River Caves, Ghost Train, Alice in Wonderland, Grand National, Derby Racer, Valhalla & Ice Blast.
 
Is that the ride closes at 9pm, or the queueline closes?

Also won't all of nickland close at 9pm as the website says when the park opens late that area closes an hour early for no apparent reason.
 
That number was wrong and the park knew it... that's not to say they knew the real one though :D

Queue lines close at 9pm, Nick Land closes at 6pm when ride close is 7pm. If ride close is anything earlier or later than 7pm Nick Land remains open until the end :)

Sadly my interest in night riding is going for a burton too, and I’ve done the end of season one for 5 years in a row. In that time it’s gone from Midnight close (awesome) to 10pm and now fireworks close a big chunk of rides at 9pm. Let’s face it, nobody is going to actually ride Icon in the dark until Autumn now. Also factoring in wind speeds shutting Flying Machines in the evening, and the loss of Wild Mouse and very few rides now remain open in that final hour for people who don’t give a flying fudge about fireworks.

And before anyone gets on their high horse about Wild Mouse being brought up again, the reality is that it was in the North end of the park hence unaffected by fireworks and was always popular until late at night. As great as Icon is, the park is a ride down at the North end of the park, which is where everyone will be post 9pm who wants to go on a ride and doesn’t want to watch their entry money going up in smoke.
 
Legoland's is a little different as it's more of a stream flowing along the path, there's no sharp corners to trip over. BPB's on the other hand has always struck me as a bit dodgy and I've come close to falling in on occasion.

This is why I only go to the September/ October and November NTR's.
As it gets darker early'er by then.

It's a bit of a farce TBH, PB really shoud look into Relocating the fireworks to Somewhere on North park.
The casino building roof maybe?

My Best advice for nighttime rider events can give is as soon as it starst to get dark IE dusk then make South park the main priority untill 9pm.
And If there open the Flyers early just Incase the wind picks up.

For the last hour I tend two make the Nash/ Flyers/ Ice blast the priority.

Nick Streak actually remained open until 10pm this evening with the rest of Nickelodeon Land.

I know people say the park should remain open later more often, but by 8:30 this evening pretty much everything other than Icon & PMBO was a walk on.
