What is the point in running a train that means hotel guests miss the last half hour of the park being open?

The big news from BPB today is that they've finally sorted out the PMBO speedy pass situation. There's now a merge point just before the air gates - no more waiting for people to get on via the exit (though wheelchair users will probably still have to). Should really speed up loading on busy days.

Also now a q for front row as well. No more speedy boarders snatching it from you at the last minute.

Impressive ops at pb today they have really been fighting the weather go get the big one out.

Still incredibly rough monorail but the worst parts are definitely improved

Excellent to see they have finally sorted this out, hopefully it'll mean much better operations and back to the days of little-to-no stacking when running two trains.

One concern is, am I correct in thinking that the scanner has been moved to just before the airgates? This could slow down boarding in itself IMO, as I can envisage people still faffing with wristbands when the train is already in the station - especially when running two trains.

Not on one train as they had two loads worth behind each air gate

The Pleasure Beach was operating really well today. All big rides have been open, although with breaks on Big One due to wind.

It was a really good start to the season. Queue times have been fine, the weather wasn't too atrocious. I also feel that the management seem to have been listening - the improvements to the Big One queue are great, operations were good and it seems like they had done much more testing prior to opening to avoid last year's shambles.

I met a group of Germans on my way to the park who were telling me that about 30-or-so came over for opening weekend. They actually seemed quite excited despite the weather. It's good to see the park attracting people from quite a wide area.

Opening day vlog courtesy of TPWW. An interesting change to note is the new front row queue and extended boarding aisles in the Big One's station. Will help throughput massively. :) (skip to 10:20)

Well, Saturday's ops may have been good, but...
Sunday, no Big One, Steeplechase down, Icon on one, with a queue to the gate, Big Dipper on one, then none.
Good job the beer and company were up to scratch.

Is the Big One down because of the bad weather? Can’t think of a good excuse for Icon being on one train though.

Probably just trying to make a good impression for the first day of the season, then a case of CBA thereafter.
