Amanda Thompson has tweeted this;

However, it looks as though the "opening 2021" text has been removed from the sign;

Sadly this could suggest it has been delayed?

Maybe, but the 'Opening 2021' tag was for visitors in the 2020 season, which is now over - not sure I'd read too much into it. It would be weird for Amanda to plug it now if it had been delayed, surely.

Perhaps they've dusted the mirrors in the Icon station and knew you needed something else to focus on!

No, haven't you heard, the Icon mirrors are getting dusted ready for the 2022 season!

I trust that they will put a sign on them advertising the fact in 2021 and cast doubt that dusting will occur over the closed season with a cryptic tweet!

Not surprised by the news, more surprised at giving another date considering we have no idea what the next month has in store let alone 12 months.

Unlikely but I really hope they add baggage racks or a hold, as when I last rode it my rucksack slipped from between my legs and fell into the footwell :oops:

If its 2023 or beyond then that's 6 years or more without a new ride of any kind.

I wonder how much valhallas delay is down to not being able to get the work done in time and how much it is down to the park having no money?

If they wanted to, they’d open it next year. This is a calculated decision based on progress and capex.
How do you know?
What I have repeatedly heard, from a few sources, is that the firm has zero funds to play with.
Massive reduction in visitors over the year, season disrupted and finished early, and a major increase in staffing costs.
They had no chance of opening it next year, finances meant there was no "option" of completion by next summer, there was no choice in the matter, it simply could not be done for financial reasons.
