Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Big chunks of it were used to prop up Valhalla's facade for its first 12 years of operation, I find this quite hilarious.

Maybe Rev is more sheltered from the sea winds by PMBO, Infusion and Dipper?
Point taken, but the air and winds can't shelter the fact it isn't the most well built ride. Also how much re-profiling can a piece of track take before it needs to go?

Saw this come up as a trending topic on Facebook http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/local/passengers-stranded-after-big-one-breaks-down-1-7831528
Didn't want to link to the Daily Fail where the headline is describing it as "Thrilseekers got the fright of their lives". The coaster stopped on mid -course breaks for 20 minutes and people walked down some stairs. Can't see where the thrills are?

On a completely different subject, it's really good to see The Star has reopened under its original guise ie a pub with live bands at night and showing live football.
Have to say the drinks are very reasonable priced and if only it were advertised slightly better (maybe open the South Gate as well) I'd like to think it would be reasonably successful.
£4.50 for a decent pint and a WKD is roughly what the pricing is, so advertising this very decent pricing can only entice more people into the place.
Definitely a recommendation for anyone going to PB.

Had a great day at Pleasure Beach today, although it has to be said that the park really struggles with anything other than light crowds, the capacity on some of their stand out attractions is really woeful. Also, the lack of indoor rides is extremely obvious when the weather changes. Not much more than ten years ago you could have headed to Noah's Ark, Trauma Towers, Black Hole, Astroswirl, Space Invader, Whip, Superbowl etc but no longer.
I'm not entirely sure how The Star has a future with its location and 'Spoons down the road, but good luck to them.

Still better than Towers this year though. Also, the lack of indoor rides is extremely obvious when the weather changes.

In fairness they still have Ghost Train, River Caves, Alice in Wonderland, Wallace and Gromit and Impossible which are indoors (well, and Valhalla but that defeats the point of staying out of the rain!) however it is a shame that so many other indoor attractions have gone.
Agreed about capacity, it's awful at the moment.

Is the Space Invader mountain still there?
They should shoe horn a new coaster in there!
I wish some parks would start building decent indoor coasters again!
With the likes of Mack and Gerst building ones that can manage really tight twists and turns, something pretty epic could be built, doesn't have to be the standard JetStar or spinner anymore. (Big parks aside SM, HP etc)
