Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion
I have to say fair play to BPB for keeping the rides open much past the 9pm closure. It was clear that with so few on park there was no need at all for them to close so early.
Speaking from experience, the Streak does usually remain open till 10pm on a fireworks night, however they may have cut the queue on some occasions if it's deemed to have a long line (once the fireworks were delayed due to it and the Big One still running)
One thing that I would like to note is if the park ever had demand for the 3rd train back on Avalanche, it' this year. The extra traffic going past it now is unreal and it can't cope.

Has it though Mako?
I know it gets cut on very busy days.
Not seen much speedypass at all this year so far, though I'm sure it is coming!
Avalanche is only available on VIP Plus now, presumably due to H&S of queuing on the stairs and people trying to exit the ride at same time. But the change benefits all non speedy passers now
At least the Speedy Pass allocation for Avalanche has been reduced this year, the queue moves a little faster now.
Has it? That's good to know. We have always seen the queue and just walked away, this may change things now.
Rob, has run 3 since the crash, I believe it last did in 2003-4 (I know it was while Spin Doctor was open, I was watching how quick closely despatched the trains were, while standing in what felt like a never ending line

This is good news. Glad to see common sense has prevailed, or more likely BPB are scared of being sued by someone falling down the exit stairs. I've said before that having people leaving AND waiting for the ride on those narrow stairs is not a good idea. I don't generally bother with Avalanche if the queue is out of the building. Last time on it was the first time in ages I went on it with the queue to the bottom of the stairs even. That said, it moved very quickly on two trains

Visited today, wasn't too busy at all. Some school groups but not really noticable. Icon was on 2 trains all day and the queue was usually just coming out of the station building. The Big One was closed all day though, probably the first time that's happened and it wasn't a major annoyance.

Any idea why the Big One was closed today? I'm visiting the pleasure beach tomorrow with a couple of friends who aren't enthusiasts who are looking forward to going on it, would be a shame if we can't get on it.

Heard someone say it was a computer issue. Went on the pleasure beach express and staff were having a look at the track were the train goes through the tunnel at the end as well.

Interesting, I guess we'll just see how it goes tomorrow.

They were up on the turnabout (above Nash) looking at the track on the way past in to work this morning, rarely see them up there, and looking at the same spot for longer than you'd expect if it was just a quick track inspection.Heard someone say it was a computer issue. I reckon that’s a pretty good estimate. Certainly before bar checks too!Rob, has run 3 since the crash, I believe it last did in 2003-4 (I know it was while Spin Doctor was open, I was watching how quick closely despatched the trains were, while standing in what felt like a never ending line

I was up there on Monday, not sure if it was me you saw but I'm not the fastest around the track!
