Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Typical pleasure beach with the announcement.
Most parks would probably have issued a statement saying they "Regret to announce" followed by some reasonable explanation for the delay.
Amanda just puts "Ta dahhhhhh" !!
What is that supposed to mean ??

That's just Pleasure Beach fashion. There was no regret for the Wild Mouse (sorry @shakey ) and there's no regret here!Typical pleasure beach with the announcement.

Ta dahhhhhh.
Two meanings..."Here it is"
Or "Goodbye".
Take your pick!
Wouldn't goodbye be "Ta Raaah" ?
I would associate "Ta dahhh" with the revelation of something good or unexpectedly amazing.

It does feel at times that the park's PR and social media team is run by underqualified interns, or simply fails to exist at all; hence why things like this are as ad hoc as they are.
Well this was posted by the owner, so not even the social media team.

That's what emphasises the point. And she's hardly the most proficient in that field!Well this was posted by the owner, so not even the social media team.

There are people in the responses to that tweet (or 'Reply Guys', as I understand they're sometimes known) addressing Amanda as 'Mummy Thompson'.

Have you seen the state of of the so called qualified social media teams kicking about these days? Someone on the Body Shops social media team called women "menstruators" and the Co-Ops social media team got into a fight with the Spectator. I think many social media teams need to send less time being trendy and be a bit more professional. Amanda makes some of them look good by comparison.

I don't know why she didn't at least write "Unfortunately, due to delays/the unusual circumstances..." or, "We promise it will be worth the wait", or just some basic PR gubbins here in 2020.
So true...nice to see you backOr maybe PR had a professionally worded press release lined up but Amanda spilled the beans prematurely as she always does...
Maybe that is a tyke pronunciation.Wouldn't goodbye be "Ta Raaah" ?

Spent an hour looking at the parks most recent accounts, not that I am skilled in accountancy...Icon seems to have been a major cost, but hasn't had any effect on income.
Cash pot seems to keep falling.
Last years figures due in December, will make interesting reading.

£16.5m and no more punters through the gates. Which equates to £16.5m down the pan unfortunately.
The increase of the walk round charge to £10 in Icon's opening year was a mistake and probably a factor in attendances dropping, when they should have gone up in 2018.
Covid has now added to the parks troubles.
As I have said before, it's all the curse of the Wild Mouse.

Costs up, income down, considerable debt increasing considerably.
Considerable debt? They didn’t need to spend 16 million plus on a new coaster!

Either they underestimated how long the refurbishment would take or they have to rely on better funds next season to finish it (as others have said). Something tells me it's the latter unfortunately.
