Brean Theme Park

The best thing about Brean was the car boot sale there, got some great knock off cds and dvds back in the day.

Obviously wouldn't do that now, but when you're a skint student in the days before YouTube and Spotify, you takes what you can get.

Sure I rode a booster there back then aswell.

Prior to that they held pig and donkey racing on the car boot field. Used to attract masses of holidaymakers. I used to spend my days trying to find someone to ride the wild mouse with me as it wouldn’t get round the track with a single kid in the carriage.

Unity own loads of land behind the park (behind @MaxPower's favourite dodgy market). I wonder if this land was part of the deal?

To be fair, Brean is less crappy than it used to be. Still really crappy of course, but less crappy. Splash is OK, and so is the soft play. Crazy Loop being dumped on part of the old market site is an "extension" technically.

The fate of Pontins is a killer. Currently rented out to Hinckley Point workers. Poor sods. They're good enough to stay away from home to help build important national infrastructure, and they punish them by shacking them up in that dump?

Can we not have a national ban on Revechon spinning mice yet? They're a plague that's preventing us from getting better rides.
A national ban on Pinfari coasters is needed.

Pinfaris seem to prevent parks from getting coasters from more reputable and modern manufacturers. I'd rather a Gerstlauer than another Pinfari.

At least the Reverchon spinning mice are more comfortable for a wild mouse even if they're a generic layout. The Pinfaris have a reputation for being rough and cheap looking.

I quite like them due to the fact that their spinning can be aggressive (an example is Ice Mountain), although they certainly aren't anything special.

Oh, I've been on many worse layouts. But the problem with Reverchon mice is that they are just thrilling enough to be "good" to the layman. While being simple enough to build up that they are worth owning on the UK circuit.
They do not deserve the quantity of clones they gather.

..... Anyway, something about Brean? What's going in with the Sooty museum these days? Fun fact: Sooty and Rainbow take place in a "shared CITV-amatic universe". According to TV Tropes, there was an episode of Rainbow where Bungle got an invite to Sooty's birthday party...... But Zippy and George didn't! 😲 Cue the drama!!!

I noticed that it had been removed from the website, but it was still very much operating a few weeks ago when I visited Splash. So I thought I'd pop down and see what the deal was.

I'm here now, and Magic Mouse has indeed been deconstructed. There are a some shipping containers just outside the border fence of where is once stood (Merlin probably on standby to buy the containers afterwards to use as "theming"). I would hazard a guess that Magic mouse is inside.

The tarmac on which it once stood has been fully cleaned up, but it looks weird now that Bulldog/Crazy Loop has been moved onto part of the old dodgy market site. Like something should be going there. But you never know.

Sooty museum has moved to Crealy now! Very good though - probably all the same stuff from Brean
