Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion

GCI are undoubtedly a it top coaster manufacturer, but it concerns me that Gwazi developed a reputation for being rough despite not being an old coaster and despite being retracked and having new trains. Now we are getting Steel Gwazi courtesy of an RMC conversion.

It's a bit like your Vauxhall nearing the end of it's life, then Honda overhauling it... weird, and I love Honda.

Is this unusual? Do GCI coasters tend to hold up and last?

Will WIckerman have a short life?

Is it a good investment or would it have been better to go for a near indestructible B and M?

It's a little concerning.

The park don't need another B&M; they need another balls to the wall thrill coaster and this is exactly what they're getting with an RMC.

With that said, Gwazi was one of the worse GCI examples. A well maintained GCI is likely to last, but they're also easy to re-track and therefore preserve (see Wodan).

They arguably have the best collection of Beemers in the world but with the way Seaworld invest in Florida, the B&Ms across both parks are very different and I can't really think of a B&M that Busch will need for now.
 
Wooden coasters really suffer in the Florida climate. There is a lot of variance and extremes. Same with Dania Beach Hurricane.

I'm not worrying too much about them sticking with the name Gwazi, it's well recognised - I had no idea what a Gwazi was prior to them building the ride. Plus Tiger hasn't operated in the best part of a decade anyway.

Makes sense to retain the name in a lot of ways.

Would have preferred the Twisted Gazi they patented. Guess they couldn't call it Steel Gwazi because of SteVe. Its not made of iorn....
 
Iron Rattler isn't made of iron either. Don't worry either way, it's going to be a great ride regardless. Hershey still win worst name.

SteVe is the worst short form in the coaster dork universe. I blame @Rob
 
Maybe RMC push parks towards Steel/Iron/Twisted ________ names as some sort of brand strengthening nonsense.

Unlikely, but who knows.

It looks like it is going to be a brilliant coaster and is very long! Maybe not a SteVe beater but a top coaster in its own right.
 
Going to be a lot of fun I think I just had it in my head that they would try to go for a world no 1. With this.

Expecting good things, Zadra is my current no.1 and this shares many elements with that exceptional ride and the most intense coaster I have ever ridden
