Pleased for the engineers, it's a shame the rest of the parks staff don't have the same power.
The problem often is, with this style of (often) temporary employment, people who join the union tend to be the people who are not welcomed back the following year...I'm sure they are able to join a union if they wish
Or to unionise and make one be recognised if 50% of staff join.
Edit to add
Currently Unite only represents the engineers, but if enough staff from other areas also joined then yes they would have same power. https://www.unitetheunion.org/news-...cognition-at-chessington-world-of-adventures/
The cost and issue is possibly needing a kitchen porter to do the washing, whereas the servers can just bin paper plates. I expect they are trying to pay peanuts and are struggling to recruit kitchen porters.Surely it costs more to keep buying in disposable plates than it does to wash and reuse proper plates.
Possibly the dishwashers have failed. Aramark run my work canteens and regularly resort to paper plates as the dishwashers break and they can’t/won’t fix them. It’s cheaper.
They wouldn’t have changed to paper if it wasn’t.
*checks prices* - £17.50 to eat at Pizza Pasta at Chessington these days and they have removed the regular plates and replaced them with paper ones.
Not only a quality downgrade but as pizza covered paper/card can’t be recycled it will all end up in the bin. What an absolutely ridiculous situation.

Mandrill Mayhem maybe? Although it could spell 2026 (and March 3rd), and thus be for a future attraction.
I mean come on, it is nothing to do with a 2026 attraction!Mandrill Mayhem maybe? Although it could spell 2026 (and March 3rd), and thus be for a future attraction.
