Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Is that assuming 4 riders per car or 3?
On all my measurements, they were filling 2 riders per car, actually. If it was 3 riders per car, it would be 240 pph and if it was 4 riders, then it would be 320 pph.

Interesting! That does at least make the average dispatch interval less than a minute.

The issue with Rattlesnake is not only does it allow max three adults per car like Dragon's Fury, no riders of a greatly differing stature can sit next to one another due to the shared lap bars. When I was waiting to board from the exit last Sunday there was a delay caused by riders not following the staff's instructions. They wouldn't understand that they couldn't all ride together, and it took four or five hosts to get the point across.

Mandrill Mayhem Review:
The Virtual Queue stuff is a bit of a faff, and I heard quite a lot of people complaining about not being able to get on it, due to not understanding the system.
The queue is OK, but there isn't much theming. However, you can still look at the theming around the area.
The station is decent, with the Op booth having a 'Days In Jumanji' tally plastered around.
I was in the front row, on a left wing seat.
The ride starts with a surprising pop of airtime. I can't comment on the beyond vertical spike due to me being in the front.
The launch is fun, however the speed is completely lost when you traverse the upward left turn.
The inversion gave a lot of hangtime, and was my favourite part of the ride.
Mandrill then meanders to the second launch. On the left side, there are some foot choppers.
The second launch is very weak, and it is there just to boost your speed.
The helix does not provide much in the forces department, but you do have a weird hanging sensation at the top. The helix is quite bouncy as well, which is bad.
The launch before the helix is much better backwards. The inversion feels the same. However, the turn after the station, when taken backwards, is very bouncy, and was pretty uncomfortable.
I enjoyed Mandrill Mayhem, and it is now my 2nd favourite rollercoaster at CWOA, behind Dragons Fury.
Will the target audience like it? Certainly.
Was it a good addition, considering CWOA's throughput issues? No.

If a multi-car coaster like Rattlesnake isn't dispatching in less than a minute then you might as well give up and go home.
They have haven't they? They've given up any hope of Chessington being any kind of decent park, built a low capacity shuttle coaster which only adds to the problems, 2 cheap as chips flats and draped all of it with half decent theming and then called it a day.

Was at the park today, and after trying to book a slot since 9:45, with the system crashing and not working for us for 4 hours, then a 4 hour virtual wait and being told that ‘having a place in the virtual queue doesn’t guarantee you a ride’, we finally got on Mandrill Mayhem a bit after park close. Was really fun! But oh boy did today not feel like escapism. The system was chaotic and stressful to say the least, with about 8 staff members at the ride entrance at one point, trying to navigate everyone through the confusion. I hope issues can be ironed out, but the virtual queue was pretty abysmal on a busy day like today.

Paulton's nearby will be laughing seeing Chessington commit suicide with their choices that'll allow them the time needed to overtake them as the top family park of the south.

Only good thing about Mandrill Mayham is that after seeing all the hell it has brought up capacity wise, it'll likely be a good warning for the other parks (not Merlin ofc who never learn) of why shuttle coasters are not always a good idea.

I guess the H&S situation probably restricts them, however, so I can’t really complain.

There is no H&S situation. No one from H&S comes down with a clipboard saying "stop that" like some sort of monty python sketch. You really need to change how you think about what H&S actually is.

H&S provide guidance on how to do things safely. There are no secrets, there are no surprises, and there is very very little advice they give that could be considered anything but obvious common sense.

There is instead an apparent competence issue at Merlin/Chessington. This is really quite shocking from a company of this size. You can complain. Everyone who visits this farce should complain. Its a total embarrassment.
