Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Update to my prior enquiry. Finally spoke to Chessington who confirmed the accessible access is for step free only.
And not for people who cannot queue.
Merlin access pass / RAP is not in use for the Xmas village or Santa experience.
They cited the time slots ensuring a short queue time - yet friends and family have all waited over 60 mins on 3 prior occasions.

Just thought it was worth updating incase anyone else has severely autistic children and were thinking of going. Don’t bother 😊

Nice few hours in the park this morning. The temporary walkway path up to the giraffe enclosure was much appreciated, as we got much closer to the giraffes than we ever do on Zufari (bar one time when we were very lucky that one came and put his head right next to the vehicle). Actually today was probably the best day we've ever had at Chessington in terms of animals - they were almost all out and active. I've never seen the Capybaras moving around so much. Only the Dik Dik (understandably given they are absolutely tiny and it was quite cold) and the Raccoons (but we did get a very sweet view of them all snuggled up together) were inside.

Really appreciated the chance to walk on to almost every ride. This visit also reinforced my opinion that the back seats of Mandrill Mayhem are the best experiences at the park right now. We didn't pay extra for the Christmas Village but the people we spoke to who had been in said they enjoyed it.

Thanks for this - was thinking of making the trip with my son but won’t bother now

In previous years with our son we have used the side entrance where the sea lions are. If that isn't available then it will be a bit of a pain because, unless they have changed something, the time slots do not mean shorter queue times.

Time slots aren't worth the paper they're printed on unless you've got the 1000 slot and even then the hotel guests can book the 0930 and 0945 slot so there will be a queue. They have tried this year to enclose it and stop the pavements being blocked by routing the footfall around the manor past Amazu but the queue is still massive. Giving out silent disco headphones doesn't alleviate the queue

Then simply they are allocating too many people to each time slot. If it takes each family group five minutes to see Santa and get pictures then a minute or to to get out the room then a queue will build up if there is one family every five minutes but it is actually taking most people seven minutes, or longer. Santa grotto is even worse than a regular theme park character meet for throughput. They really should only be giving out a maximum of ten timeslots an hour per Santa (shh).

Wait a minute, did you say per Santa? :tearsofjoy: Joking aside, I wouldn't surprised if it is double that.
It probably is double that, hence the queue issues. But I'd be very suprised if many families are in and out in much less than five minutes.

Also yes, theme park magic means per Santa.

Project Play Plans have been submitted. Planned for 2026.

There's one coaster, three children's flat rides (likely including Jungle Bus), a meet and greet area, retail, an outdoor food area and a play area.

The rollercoaster seems to be similar in layout to Farmyard Flyer at Paultons Park. Zamperla or Zierer I think 🤔

I will add the Rodeo/Jumbos site is included in this plan so this rules out the potential for Monkey Swinger to go there.

Thought Rattlesnack was also for the scrapheap?
Rattlesnake was never intended to be part of Project Play. It'll either remain stand alone or get integrated into Adventure Point or Forbidden Kingdom.

From the plans, it seems that one of the flat rides is certainly Jungle Bus and the other (Children's Ride B) is a Balloon Tower similar to what was shown on the Project Amazon consultation: https://www.attractionsource.com/20...nsultation-for-new-amazon-land-rollercoaster/

The last one (Children's Ride A by the entrance) seems a bit larger so could be anything - the Zierer Jet Skis from the Jumanji consultation (link above) could be possible but that ride type is more for families and slightly older children.
