Chris Moyles leaving Radio One

Can't stress enough how much I hate nick grimshaw nothing more to say about it

I hate radio music shows, the presenters butt into good songs and ruin them! Plus Moyles is annoying, I dislike radio 1 as it only rarely plays decent music. I am supposed to be in their target market but I dislike that pop/rap drivel.

I rarely listen to the radio unless I:

a) Have nothing to do in a car

b) Want to hear Pete Price getting abused on Radio City

c) Want to listen to Innuendo Bingo

On the subject of Chris Moyles though, I don't actually mind him. Some of the stuff he does is hit and miss (like most people) but overall I can tolerate him.

Chris started going stale when Rachel and Carrie left. Leaving Aled to produce. Instead of having someone who would obviously control the content and him they let a little welsh radio personality wannbe take control. The show just became about ego's rather then entertaining. In the end. which was a shame because at its height the programme did get very good.

Also, started to hate him more when my beloved Rugby League club (Featherstone Rovers) decided to re-name there stadium. From Post Office Road. To The Chris Moyles Stadium. With the idea the 8million people will now know the name FEATHERSTONE ROVERS. Which didn't work as A, he came twice. B, only mentioned them when they won at home. Which at the time wasn't much. C, Was clearly not interested. Although he did read at text out from me asking if he'll ever bother to come and see them play. He didn't take me upon my offer.

The only problem is. ....I hate Grimmy. He is so boring and oly talks about 1Direction. Fair enough, there has been an odd day where I have listened and enjoyed it, but there has been many more where I've turned over to another station. Bring back Moyles!

I've never understood the popularity of radio. Do people use it to discover new music?

No, not on mainstream radio any longer (although online and London stations like Rinse and Resonance are the exception, not the rule), but for decades, somebody like John Peel, or later, Mary Anne Hobbes, were one of the few ways to discover new music full stop.

I think Radio 6 Music is probably the closest you'll get to the John Peel days of old.

I wish I had something witty to say here.....

I listen to Absolute. My kind of music and I like Christian O'Connell and Geoff Lloyd. I don't go out of my way to listen to the radio, is only when driving really. Have to put up with adverts but I'd rather that than listen to BBC. Can't stand any of BBC at all, except maybe 6.

Oh yeah, and Chris Moyles was probably just as bad as Grimshaw.

I disagree. Live daytime radio, yes. But the ability to stream specialist night-time shows from Radio 1 and Kiss, a lot of good music to hit the decks with. The playlist on Radio 1, which you can view, has surprisingly good variety. That playlist will have something to everyones taste, and thats where people really find new music.

Radio 1 DJs are just too fake and arse kissing of whichever musician they are interviewing. The entire station just comes across as infuriating and weak.

To be fair, everyone loves a good game of Zane Lowe catchphrase bingo.

"Massive" "Hottest in the world" "You've got to respect what they're doing" etc...
