Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

I’m considering going next year and so am after some advice - does anyone recommend a particular hotel? None of them scream out to me so I think I should ask around what the best one is, else I’d just go for the cheapest!

On or off site?

If onsite my preference is usually Cheyenne. It’s the best balance between price and quality for us, but all depends on which themes work for you.

On site/Disney hotel - as I’d like to take in the Disney magic, and also be close to the parks :)
We're considering Cheyenne next year, as we have a little one who will be able to appreciate the woody/toy story theme at that point. For adults I really rate sequoia, it's showing its age a little bit, but for the price and the VIBES it's really nice, especially at Christmas.

Very late to the party as I see this was announced months ago but do we think there is any chance (and room) for Villains land to happen in Paris?

Presumably they’re not going to work on anything else, be it a new area for the castle park or the third park till after Lion King so we’d be looking at 10 years down the line if anything did happen…

Maybe but there are currently no rumours. It will likely be 2030 when it opens in Orlando. But if it turns out to be a success then I am sure villians attractions will eventually be added to California and Paris.

The current rumours are that they will add a starwars mini land to the castle park as part of Discovery land which will include a multi launch starwars themed family thrill coaster for 2029 ish, likely announced at D23 2026. Also a third expansion around the lake at Studios would follow on after the coaster at the original park and current talk is that’s it likely to be a version of Pandora, especially as France is the third biggest market for the avatar films in terms of box office (which for most films France wouldn’t rank as high as third).

Also just to add with Universal UK planned for 2031 I certainly could see some additional attractions built by that year- I would expect what ever the third land around the lake turns out to be to now be ready to open by 2031.

Considering they already have a launched Star Wars themed family thrill coaster in discovery land surely that is incredibly unlikely?

This would make a lot of sense though and the flying theatre attraction would be a very welcome new addition!

taking form WDW, where they only did something when the construction photos of universals projects come out, they will probably announce 3 new areas for DLP when detailed construction photos come out (they did it for harry potter, diagonally, and epic universe)

being serious don't they have an obligation to build another park?

calling it themed is generous, it is space mountain with a few banners that say star wars, a sound track and some projectors in the ride, it would be incredibly easy for them to turn it back into space mountain (and I would argue it would be much better themed, and probably better to have a good family launch coaster (as they don't have that)).

That was just a cheap and supposedly temp overlay on space mountain expect it’s stuck around for ages! It will likely revert back to a non stars Space Mountain at some point. Disneyland has star tours and did a temp star wars overlay on their space mountain for a while (they Used to rotate the theme in their version for different seasons, ie ghost galaxy for Halloween, it only used to close for a few days to be converted as it is essentially just a change in projections, lighting and sound effects.having those in Tomorrowland didn’t stop them building galaxy edge the other side of the same park.

How did they do Harry diagonally?
I always see him as a straight up kind of guy.
It’s the only way he fits under the stairs.

Anyway, has anyone here ever camped near DLP? Any experience with local campsites or thoughts on Eurotunnel v Ferry from Dover?

I’ve had a cursory look at local campsites, but would appreciate any insights.
