They only really sold the basic items from Pirate adventure the Audio-Animatronics figures were all kept. Some of the scenes were still intact with the battle scene not touched.
Gotta be that Yup. 100% Pirate Adventure reopening. Drayton have definitely spent all this money on painting Shockwave and Splash Canyon to distract us from the bigger picture. Bring on the 2021 pirates takeover.
I’m sure I heard somewhere that someone had bought one of the animatronics in the auction? They only really sold the basic items from Pirate adventure the Audio-Animatronics figures were all kept. Some of the scenes were still intact with the battle scene not touched.
I was lucky enough to get a Pirate Adventure animatronic and have been working to restore the piece to its original working order, along with the Crest from the Ride Station that sat behind the onload point. They only really sold the basic items from Pirate adventure the Audio-Animatronics figures were all kept. You should post some photos, I’m sure a lot of people here would be really interested in this.I was lucky enough to get a Pirate Adventure animatronic and have been working to restore the piece to its original working order, along with the Crest from the Ride Station that sat behind the onload point.
What with Pirate Adventure reopening...Do you think it will have air gates?
Closed season nearly over thankfully.

Well it always did have air gates …….
I would say this almost certainly refers to the rapids, as both adventure and waves fit within that, as well as the nautical theme.
Where did you find that information about the battle scene being intact? Just out of curiosity. I am sure I saw parts of the boat from that scene smashed up and in a skip last year, could have been something else though.
One interesting thing I have noticed, presumably for more maintenance space. Is in the years since Excalibur closed, they have shrunk the Excalibur lake to give more workshop space next to Pirate Adventure's show building, that takes up part of what was the route for the boats of Excalibur. Most noticeable around the waterfall on the ride, which now basically faces into ground on one side. Not that It was even going to re open anyway, but did not know that had used some of the old rides path up.
You can’t judge the park on last season as they didn’t take over to August the looping group but they showing signs they want to make the park it’s flag ship park.Been out of the scene for a long time, nor have I been to Drayton Manor for many years, but watched a video of the park from summer 2020 and wow what a fall from grace, the park really looked like it was hanging onto a thin thread sad to see.

Just because the company is called Drayton Manor Resort doesn’t mean they’re focussed on becoming one. I haven’t seen any signs that this is the case, there have been no mentions of the hotel anywhere since Looping took over the park. They had to register a company and Drayton Manor Park was obviously unavailable and so Drayton Manor Resort was the next best option.I mean the only way is up - and I really hope that is true with the looping group, I dont really know much about them or their other attractions.
But a lot of smaller parks parks are starting to up thier game recently likes of paultons, flamingo land etc. There's some tough competition for Drayton Manor right now real shame they focused on the "resort" ie: a hotel, rather than looking after and adding new attractions. Just hope it gets the TLC it deserves.
I assume they chose Drayton Manor Resort Ltd as it encompasses the old companies - Drayton Manor Park Ltd and Drayton Manor Hotel Ltd. Never said they weren't trying to push and advertise the hotel. Even before the buyout they were advertising hotel 'staycations' and other various packages. Without someone who works at Drayton Manor confirming the thought behind the company name 'Drayton Manor Resort', we'll just have to stick to assuming.I assume they chose Drayton Manor Resort Ltd as it encompasses the old companies - Drayton Manor Park Ltd and Drayton Manor Hotel Ltd. As far as I can see, they’re still Drayton Manor Park in terms of brand, though.
I think they are still trying to push the hotel as I’ve seen a lot of social media adverts for “staycations at Drayton”.
In another double post. It appears we have a new Thomas 4D show in the Cinmea this year. Toilets from the fire being rebuilt, new avery.

This is along side some general improvements to menus and other things. Always nice to see!
The new owners are certainly keep to get things moving, which is a very encouraging sign. It appears that the majority of things that could be done in the short amount of time since they took over, are being done.
Must have missed that, no worries.I already left a link for the update on my post from 6:37pm yesterday.
I wonder when they will release more information about there new attraction for this year. Thomas land 4D was supposed to be new for last season
