Drayton Manor Park

I would argue their other USPs are creating wooden like coasters with less maintenance and bringing old woodies back to life.
 
I’m going to be in the minority here but I sincerely hope they don’t get an RMC, especially one of their smaller models (Zadra I’d take, but let’s be realistic).

I’d much prefer something along the lines of a launched Gerstlauer. They’re generally cracking rides, that don’t need to be too tall and won’t be that noisy either. Something like Karacho feels like it would be a perfect fit.

I can't see Drayton getting anything with inversions, although I'd be pleasantly surprised if they do.
 
Let's be honest here, the likelihood of Drayton getting an RMC is low. Is it completely out of the question, especially with a family model? Well no, but it's very unlikely. What they need is something tried and tested, but not yet in the UK. Something from Vekoma will be fine, or even something a bit more thrilling from Gerstlaur would do nicely.
 
To my knowledge the Looping Group have no meaningful working relationship with B&M, Mack Rides, Intamin or RMC.
They do however a long standing relationship with Vekoma, with many of their coasters found in their parks across Europe.

I think there's a very good chance it will be a Vekoma model they go for personally. A suspended Thrill Coaster is my guess. Tayto Park in Ireland are getting one for 2023 and I wouldn't be shocked to see one rock up at Drayton.

Both solid ride types but not exactly unique to the UK are they?

Think they'd be better going for something a bit different tbh.
 
All of the new gen Vekoma suspended coasters I've done (Paultons, Movie Park and Energylandia) have been pretty good, a massive step up from the SLC days of misery (I'm not counting Mayan as new gen)
 
With Apocalypse due to run for the entire season it's leaving it a bit late for a 2023 coaster isn't it? That's if that this is the site it's being built on.

the recent article posted on here has been updated and the major project is now listed as 2024, which makes more sense.

I would imagine next year will prob see a new ride/update to Thomas land.
 
Going off topic a bit but it is to do with West Midlands Safari Park and Pleasure Wood Hills with the amount of investment that the looping group has put into Drayton Manor over the past 2 years and ths plans for the next 3 years the fans of both parks want to know why they not investing in new attractions at these’s parks with the Pleasure Wood only really getting re-themed attractions and 2nd hand attractions in its 11 years it’s owned the park and at the Safari park they just only invested in the Safari side of the park and built the new lodges. I don’t think the amusement park had any new attractions since Kong was installed by the former owners with just some rides getting a re-theme.
 
It's an interesting discussion that could (and probably should) have it's own thread Cc'ing @Craig
but I'll discuss a few reasons:
  • Drayton is there biggest park, by some way and therefore will naturally get more investment
  • When they bought Drayton it was struggling and needed putting back into it's place as one of the UK's major parks
  • When Drayton is earning substantial money again they can use some of it to invest in the other parks
  • I do think they might have a plan to sell a one ticket to get into all parks at some point, with them building up each park individually, meaning that people have a reason to visit each park each year.
  • Realistically, WMSP aren't ever going to get the investment of Drayton. Pleasure-wood hills is a different one because realistically, if they wanted they could add a few decent rides to the place and probably make it a more substantial park, perhaps they are considering this once Drayton is back on track.
