Drayton Manor Park

Found out yesterday that the reason of the lack of social media posts about the coaster is Danielle Nicholls and her team has left Drayton and gone to AltonTowers.

Was told only 2 remain in the Marketing Department.
Even the head of Maintenance and a couple of his team have left with the reminding working to 11pm on Friday to get 90% of Thomas land Rides open yesterday.

Probably not surprising. Usually following a takeover there is a churn in staff due to a change in work practices. Also, I am sure the new owners will be looking to centralise an element of some functions.
As far as I know , Danielle was a very respected member of staff at the park. My guess is it’s a case of poaching from Towers/Merlin and not a shake up by Drayton.

That's very poor. How many jobs are available in the area?
I’m not sure I only found out yesterday about the staffing and with the maintenance they were working for most of the day to get Winston open.

We even broke down on it for 15-20 mins
They didn’t even get round to working on Troublesome Truncks

Been told once staff have finished on the Western area they will remove the frontage of the building and over the next 12 months remove the rest as it’s all in a bad state

Striping it back to the main show building means they can built whatever attraction they like inside and with the amount of money this new coaster, area, Terence, Shockwave and other park improvements have Cost this year I’m sure they can afford to build a new dark ride with a new area to replace pirate cove in 2025 or 26.

I like the colours of the building repaint, but I hope they add more detailing. It looks very bare and a bit basic now.

Still, it looked better when it was new as seen below. They have slowly cannabilised all the details over two decades.

It’s a shame about the marketing and maintenance staff but not surprising. Towers pay peanuts but Drayton even less.
When engineering positions have been advertised the pay is below my, albeit higher level, retail position. Even management positions would be a pay cut.
Looping are investing well in development but they need seriously fix staffing levels / retention along the whole park going forward

I have no idea where you've plucked that 30k figure from, and I'm not saying I don't believe you either, but if true that would be at least £15k under what most sizeable firms are paying for Marketing managers these days and that's conservative too.

I work in recruitment and have placed loads of them in all areas of the UK.
Digital and marketing managers won't even pick up the phone for less than 50k at the moment such is the state of the market.
