Is there any sign of 'The Wave' actually testing yet? They could really do with it opening at Easter and I would have thought they would have had it testing by now, I would be worried how this would Impact attendance as people will hold off especially as the new coaster will be May at the earliest
Staff have informed me if it has no problems the wave should be open on the 29th or 30th March.
Stormforce 10 is currently been all repainted in the queue lines while it’s having a computer system upgrade so it will hopefully have less downtime and can run more boats. They hope it will open mid to end of April.
The new coaster is still on to open at the end of May ready for the start of the school trips.
Not sure about the red and yellow colour scheme. Looks a bit weird. I know nothing about this re-theme though.
Lifeguard uniform is traditionally red and yellow so as this is a lifeguard tower I assume thats why they picked those colours.
The ride was originally launched in association with the RNLI. The idea was to emulate the excitement and the drama of an RNLI lifeboat rescue.Oh, that explains the choice then. Still not a fan though, to be honest
That was Storm Force 10, not Shockwave/The Wave. The ride was originally launched in association with the RNLI. The idea was to emulate the excitement and the drama of an RNLI lifeboat rescue.
The ride was sponsored by JET for a while, which had the tower painted as yellow at the top, and blue for the bottom half. I don't know exactly when it switched to yellow and red (when the JET sponsorship ran out).
The photos are of Stormforce 10, with its yellow and red tower. That was Storm Force 10, not Shockwave/The Wave.

Ahh I see, fair. Thought you were talking about The Wave's new entrance structure. The photos are of Stormforce 10, with its yellow and red tower.
But upon reflection @BarryZola was responding to The Wave before the photos of Stormforce 10 were posted. I was riffing on @jon81uk's reply about lifeguards, so assumed that both were talking about Stormforce 10; with the photos being before Jon's reply, but after Barry's reply. Lesson learned: read the whole thread, not the latest post.Ahh I see, fair.
Yep it was the new Wave entrance structure in this post that is being discussed. But upon reflection @BarryZola was responding to The Wave before the photos of Stormforce 10 were posted.
