If its the rides last year with the blasters, might as well use them for one last time before the ride undergoes some work.
A lot of the Broken effects are from Duel as well, with most of the Original 92 props still working or not as fast as they used to be, so I would've thought guests would complain more about it since Duels props do interact more with the whole Laser Gun concept.I think the biggest problem with the ride now as with it been 20 years old next year as duel. Guests would moan more if none of the LED’s worked compared to every effect was broken or switched off.
I just hope it isn't a Bubbleworks situation...Yeah there’s so much adding up to something coming - it’s not just a coincidence that all these things are happening - rumours, the ride is falling apart, MMM spotted behind the ride, reduced merch; etc. Something is definitely happening to Duel
1000%Whatever it ends up being, I just hope it’s a theatrical ride experience as opposed to relying on tech like screens and rubbish gimmicks. They need to get theatrical designers in - people who know how to light a set and how to build quality set pieces.
I know I’ve said this before but in it’s current state, Duel looks like Halloween night in a nightclub.
Sadly these are not generally the kind of contractors MMM work with, and when they do, budgets are just far too tight to create anything of note. They need to get theatrical designers in - people who know how to light a set and how to build quality set pieces.
This is tricky to implement - part of the Lego contract stipulates that any Lego attraction must contain a 'Miniland', hence the opening of the Legoland waterpark in Garda includes a little Miniland. So of course this doesn't make it impossible, but expensive and not easy. Taking Duel as an example, you couldn't just convert that to a Lego themed dark-ride without adding a Miniland somewhere. With Lego having taken over the group I'm surprised we've not seen a lego attraction / area for the non-lego parks. Great gift shop sales op and cross promotion for Legoland itself. A dark ride would be the ideal candidate...
I would suggest existing/previous contracts are of little consequence when lego owns lego and the park, its not really like when Merlin were licencing from lego, they now are lego. This is tricky to implement - part of the Lego contract stipulates that any Lego attraction must contain a 'Miniland', hence the opening of the Legoland waterpark in Garda includes a little Miniland. Or how about an indoor Miniland walkthrough and dark ride inside Duel's building? Best of both then.I would suggest existing/previous contracts are of little consequence when lego owns lego and the park, its not really like when Merlin were licencing from lego, they now are lego.
If it is seen as good for business overall I'm sure they could make it happen. And could that big outdoor, winding, and recently cleared, queueline function as a miniland?
