Efteling: General Discussion

Reading that article , it speaks volumes to me that the family appear to refuse to be contacted by the park in any capacity .

I recently visited Efteling and the toilets all stayed open well after park closing (we made the trek from the front of the park , near Fata Morgana, all the way back to the Hotel entrance and every toilet we passed was open) . This fact, combined with the outstanding service levels by Efteling staff make me wonder if the family isn’t telling the full story here .

On an unrelated note, did we ever get any concrete leaks about the rumoured new coaster besides a vague announcement from the park ?
 
So it looks like they attempted to use toilets after park closing... the cleaner was having none of it, telling her to go elsewhere.
It then all escalates because the mum drags the police into things herself?

Seems like the normal over reaction to a situation that was not ideal, but should have been a minor niggle. Go to another loo (which is what they did), and complain next day that toilets shouldn"t close if they have a queue.

The escalation of the situation is all down to the mums response. Efteling might have made a non perfect customer service decision, but no company is perfect every time...

This bit too suggests the guests didn't behave particularly well...

"With some pushing and pulling, mother and son managed to enter the toilets. The park’s security then arrived, and held her for two hours until the police arrived. "

Who knows. Shame to see people boycotting the park without knowing all the facts but that's social media for you.
 
Amazing at bringing out both the joy of Efteling and the current sad situation.

Loved the place since the first time I visited, can't wait to return.
 
As of a few weeks ago, Efteling have a new Park Director, Nicole Scheffers. Lovely and wholesome interview with her on their blog.

In terms of any hints for the parks future- nothing really, supposedly she doesn't have any plans for the short term.
 
I know it's been planned for a while, but if there's any park that doesn't need an expansion, it's Efteling.
