Yeah, round here we have treacle mines in Sabden and Oswaldtwistle. That’s understandable given you’re from the North. I don’t know what reason you’d have to know about Lydney, in the same way that I have no reason to know about numerous small towns in the North!
I must admit that I did find it interesting to see how people perceive some of my local towns, and my local area more generally…

So this has been time sink - https://evandesigns.com/blogs/evan-designs-news-and-how-tos
I was looking for some quirky Halloween stuff with LEDs and make some pretty interesting Pumpkins for this year. I ended up spending several hours pouring through the how to guides and basically plotting some items that may end up in the "Look what I made thread".
I couldn't see if I posted this one before https://www.historyvshollywood.com/ You know when you watch a film and you think I wonder what "based on a true story" quantifies, well wonder no more! The website fact checks the films and will now give you knowledge to bore your friends with an "Actually I think you'll find Oppenheimer didn't quote I am become Death, destroyer of worlds, during his intimate moments"!

This isn’t a website, instead being a Facebook page, but I’ve been finding a page called S**** Parking Watch UK to be rather interesting viewing in the last few days: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100062859167547
As the name implies, it is a page that uploads people’s pictures of poor parking they’ve observed from around the UK.
While I’ll admit that I’m unsure on how I feel about the inclusion of people’s registration plates in the pictures, and I do feel that some on the page are perhaps overly judgmental, the pictures give me some renewed faith in my own parking ability, which is a useful morale boost after having failed my first driving test last week…

There's a similar page on Twitter called 'You Park Like A C***'. Makes me feel better about my less-than-good parking skills. This isn’t a website, instead being a Facebook page, but I’ve been finding a page called S**** Parking Watch UK to be rather interesting viewing in the last few days: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100062859167547

Weird and relieving when you see your workplace but someone else's car on there

What's that, you don't want to ever be relaxed when flying again? Here's the website for you, the documents every little issue with flights in real time.
Just today an air display crash, a double aborted take off, a nose gear fault causing a 2 hr hold and relanding on departure, a runway bomb threat, and a near wing strike on takeoff. Yikes.

Quoting himself for the benefit of the swashbuckler in one of the several toilet topics we seem to have...There was talk about squat toilets in an EP thread. I once found this rather twisted, yet strangely fascinating blogsite... Toilets from around the world!

Oh Scarfolk and dusty gismos, how I have missed you.
Quite handy topic to fire up again for the closed season...

I have a fun website to share with you all today; Spurious Correlations: https://www.tylervigen.com/spurious-correlations
I was shown this by a Data Analytics lecturer at university, and if you want ultimate proof that correlation does not equal causation, this is the website to visit!
Many true correlations between things are shown that have a correlation coefficient approaching 1, but are realistically very unlikely to actually have a causal effect on one another.
For fun, the site now has AI-generated “explanations” for said correlations, along with an AI-generated picture and an AI-generated academic paper trying to explain why these things are heavily correlated!

I wasn't there, I didn't do it, you can't prove anything

We were shown an "obvious correlation" in geography stats forty odd years ago, a really good example.I have a fun website to share with you all today; Spurious Correlations: https://www.tylervigen.com/spurious-correlations

O level results in some county or other, and penguin birth rates.
Obviously linked.
