Fireworks 2024

So, they did forget about the Phalanx spokesperson's name being John Dalton (although it's possible that they, by coincidence, share the same name). The fire looked good, and there were certainly plenty of fireworks in that video.
Apparently the moustache guy was just a spokesperson and never given a name, the CEO John Dalton that they kept referring to had never been revealed until now. Most people just assumed (including me) that the moustache guy was the CEO.

Edit-
Looking back at the original video, it does just say "Phalanx Spokesperson" when this guy is on screen:

I’ve watched it online and I’m thoroughly impressed. It’s great that they’ve brought back proper storytelling to the fireworks and whilst there was pop music, it fitted well and I’m also glad that they used the classical version of ITHOTMK rather than a synth version that’s been used in recent years. What I thought was most interesting was the battle between Nemesis and the spaceship (presumably Galactica). It was cleverly done and reminded me of displays back in the 90s. But it did indicate that Nemesis defeated Galactica, make of that what you mean!

Just got back, and My goodness it was really good, I loved it:

It was really good, I really like how the alean worked (don't know how it came across in video, but the lights on the towers made it look like that was it, I really enjoyed it. and the nemesis introduction was really good (I think maybe the space craft could have been like galactica, the blue being taken over by nemesis) and the ending mentioning taking phalanx into space, etc really hinted at galactica I feel like

Might have gone unnoticed by a few, but the Phalanx on the tv balconies to the far left and right further back used flame throwing guns during the battle scene. 100% one of my favourite parts!

I’ve been on the hunt for this after the show finished but somehow I can’t find any footage of it anywhere as it wasn’t central so if anyone finds or has it, I’d love to see it posted. Not everyone I was with saw it due to the all around chaos and there’s no proof.

You aren't going mad!

In terms of the display - overall it's easily one of the best of the past decade. Certainly not in terms of quantity of pyro, but in every other facet. The introduction of John Dalton was Tony Stark-esque over-the-top and I absolutely loved it. Best part of the show for me.

The battle scene was visually spectacular, though I found a little confusing once the Nemesis creature "appeared". The audio presence without much visual stimulus I didn't find convincing enough.

Narrative driven is without doubt the way to go though. This was a creative masterpiece and plaudits must go to the component crews who worked on each element of the show as well as the creative directors!

Up there with 2010 and 2013 on how to do a fireworks show at Towers. Very well done, with the story walking the line between campy nonsense but not too far gone you can't get interested in it.

They had the hand held gun flame throwers on the front stage too

Thanks everyone for your tips. It wasn't as busy as I'd suspected it would be yesterday, we ended up doing the whole day from opening through to the fireworks, watching them from the Mutiny Bay end of the area and then being able to get quickly back to FV for a last ride on Nemesis and then exiting. I was out of the Air car park in 10 minutes probably. Thirteen was sadly down the entire day which was annoying, and I also noticed that despite pretty small queues for the majority of the day, all rides had their full queue areas open. It's a little bit insane, walking around the full Galactica queue and then arriving at an empty station. Could've been better managed.

The fireworks and the show were terrific, better than my expectations, I loved the story, the integration with the Phalanx theme, and it all seemed to go off without a hitch. Bravo to everyone involved!

Seems there was AV pre show at about 6 with some great Easter eggs in. Did I see JW in phalanx gear and SW3 was all a ruse?

And a mention of “we can’t wait to show what is just on the horizon” ?…

Not a coincidence surely.

Either way I’m here for it!

Regarding Nemesis in the show...
With Nemesis being released from the pit to protect the Earth from the spaceship, does this mean that Nemesis has become an anti-hero Godzilla who now protects the planet? Very 90s Heisei era Godzilla storyline there which Godzilla fans will know what I'm talking about.
