Fireworks 2025

I think it’s possible to acknowledge both that it’s an impressive show, and that compared to last year it’s somewhat underwhelming.
I think that is the nail on the head for this conversation (and many others round these parts).

Even an underwhelming fireworks show at Alton Towers is likely to be one of the best fireworks shows in the nation. A Bronze Medal winner is still on the podium, but it is OK to recognise where they can improve (so long as it is done respectfully), or where they got it right.

We all know what Alton Towers are capable off (both at the higher and lower end of their spectrum), so any discussion here has to be viewed in that light. It is highly unlikely that anyone is discussing the show in comparison to the display they went to down the local park (unless they've specifically stated that in the comment).

Yeah i only did Sunday and thought it was fine but nothing on last year. The lights were great, the fireworks were good, but the music was poor and the narration was weird like it was constantly interrupting itself to go "now the show is really ready to begin" over and over and then suddenly it was the finale?

Much better than some of the years I've been to though

We thought the Fireworks and the lighting were amazing, the AI story was okay?, would have been better without several narrators, and just being the AI voice on its own?

the music was absolutely dreadful. far too overpowering, and seemed to try and dominate the show, it just ended up become a mess of noise and when your child is squinting it definitely takes the fun away!

Good comparison here to show the difference between Friday and Saturday night fireworks.

There are plenty of fireworks being launched to what appears to be the same height on the Friday watching that side by side comparison. I reckon that there was no "weather" excuse and someone made some kind of balls up with the timings or there was a malfunction or something. You can tell how much wind there isn't by the prevalence of smoke compared to the Saturday night.

Think if I went on the Friday I'd be hunting down some kind of refund.

It wasn't wind speed but wind direction - it was carrying the fallout ever so slightly closer to the crowd on Friday than the other two days. It was a very deliberate decision not a malfunction.

Behind the scenes clip from a very brave Jubilee Fireworks pyro technician during the finale on Sunday. Looks like it was filmed near the food and drinks hut at the Towers archway so I guess quick access into that if needed! (watch with the sound up!)

When you said “very brave”, I was expecting something a bit more on the edge than a Jubilee person standing quite far away from mortars being fired, when they’re trained to do exactly that or indeed get much closer 😜

I thought overall it was a decent show. Not as good as last years, but then I never expected it to be as I really did enjoy last years so much.

The fireworks was pretty good overall and the lighting was fantastic, one of the better lighting setups they have had. The story felt lost and confused, as did some of the music choices. But overall impressive, as every fireworks show at Alton Towers is.

We watched Friday's show from Alton village which gave a completely different perspective of it. A shame about the finale on Friday, but you cannot take risks when it comes to safety and large crowds so they no doubt made the right choice. The finale on Saturday and Sunday was the clear highlight of the show, like the lighting it was one of the better finales they have done.

I think, as many others have mentioned, the storyline was weak, but it's still the best fireworks display anywhere in the UK by far. London NYE is good, but not on Towers level in my opinion.

I think, if I take my thoosie hat off, it would have been really well received by the general public. Lots of fireworks? Tick. Music to song and dance to? Tick. A really party style atmosphere? Tick.

It's probably is a real difficult balance to try please fans of the park and the GP at the same time.

Out of curiosity what was the sound of the event like from the village and the ability to see the display?
Sounds like car bombs going off. You can hear the fireworks and see the ones that go up high from the village but can’t hear the music/really see the lights.

Whereas Oakamoor you can’t see the fireworks (but can hear them) but the music is really loud and you can see the lights.

Honestly best place to watch them and see everything outside the park is Ramshorn way, you’re higher that the Towers so looking down at it all along those roads.

Yeah it definitely had a big party vibe this year
