Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins

Yeah, these are the rollover replacements and we were quite surprised they decreased from £9.50 rollover to £9.25 for this but now has gone from rip off to totally out of the question!
I keep saying though baby steps.

I’d envisage there is a set contract term with Aramark that Merlin can’t get out of. Until that point we will see this sort of crap time and time again

That’s assuming Merlin are not satisfied with Aramark’s provision. Guest satisfaction is only one part of the F&B aspect, and might not be one of the KPIs Merlin is bothered about.

Aramark might be acing other aspects like logistics, comms, payment terms, etc., and could be seen as a long term partner beyond the current contract.

Aramark can provide amazing dining experiences (I’ve had the pleasure, outside the leisure industry). But, it seems as though for this contract with Merlin that is not a priority for either party. Or, at least, was not a priority at the signing of the contract.

I hope the situation improves as it is dire at the moment (even though I’m a queue line butty box bloke), but I’m also wary it might not.

I am surprised there’s little effort to do showy (and expensive) snacks and stuff aimed at vloggers and influencers, though. Epcot festival type stuff, as that seems a potential opp with no long-term commitment

Because if you don’t know before you visit what option have you got?

Its pay up or go hungry.

Exactly this.

Whilst Disney are working on more ways for their guests to leave with magical memories that will last a lifetime, Merlin are happy with folk leaving their parks “feeling a bit conned but probably not enough to leave a bad Tripadvisor”

What a high bar they’ve set for themselves.

But you can see the prices before you purchase, so I’m lost why someone would pay £9.25 for a rollover hot dog. Or any hot dog for that matter!
Exactly that. I'd honestly go all day and we do than pay insane pricing like this. Yet it's personal choice I guess
