Football Discussion

To be fair to City for a second, they did have a rather elderly defensive line for quite a while, so I can see why Pep has splashed out a lot of money for reinforcements. I will agree that they've spent a truly ridiculous amount of money, though.

@Jonathan, we're not allowed in here mate, it's the only safe haven the straights have against the gay harem of Towers Street. ;)

So a new season begins in the Premier League on Friday, what is everyone thinking? My early predictions for the table:

1. Man United (I'm getting it right this season )
2. Man City
3. Liverpool (depends on if Van Dijk signs)
4. Chelsea (squad looks thin)
5. Arsenal
6. Tottenham (missed their chance, Wembley a hinderance)
7. Everton
8. West Ham
9. Leicester
10. Crystal Palace
11. Southampton
12. Stoke
13. Watford
14. West Brom
15. Newcastle
16. Bournemouth
17. Brighton
18. Burnley
19. Swansea
20. Huddersfield

1. Man City (Strengthened where they needed to)
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool (Not enough depth for a challenge)
4. Tottenham (After an early CL exit)
5. Man Utd (Lots of home draws again)
6. Arsenal (Europa League games will drain them)
7. Everton (Top 6 are still years ahead)
8. Southampton
9. West Ham Utd
10. Newcastle Utd
11. Stoke City
12. Leicester City
13. West Brom
14. Watford
15. Burnley
16. Bournemouth
17. Huddersfield (Think a tight defence will save them)
18. Crystal Palace (Big Sam to go early)
19. Brighton
20. Swansea City

Think it'll be an exciting season, think Huddersfield will surprise many as teams that come up with tight defences usually do well.

More importantly my local team Lincoln City played there first proper league game in 6 years. Nice to be back where we belong.

Here's my prediction:

1. Man City
2. Man United
3. Spurs
4. Chelsea
5. Liverpool
6. Arsenal
7. Everton
8. West Brom
9. Leicester
10. The Palace
11. Southampton
12. Bournemouth
13. Burnley
14. Stoke
15. Newcastle
16. Swansea
17. West Ham
18. Watford
19. Huddersfield
20. Brighton.

Looking forward to the first Steel City Derby in 5 years tomorrow. Come on Wednesday!!
(Will be watching on TV at home)

Everton will have to improve somewhat to beat us to 7th, and Burnley are on a bad run so I'm not sure!

Oh... you mean Manchester City!? :p

:)

Ha ha ha to be fair Leicester are on a great run - good side.

Man City - I dunno they will win it this year but how can they improve really? Next season will be interesting

I think city will win this season hands down but then teams will be catching on to how they play meaning an interesting season next year. There's 5/6 teams that could win next season

Still the only team to keep a clean sheet against City :D

Although we were so close to winning :(

Jimmy Armfield has sadly passed away today. He was the true definition of a legend; one of the first ever overlapping full backs, the record appearance holder for Blackpool, a former England captain and a great of broadcasting. I have never heard a bad word said about this great man and he will be hugely missed by all in football.

Rest in peace.
