Spurs just look lost. No direction, no joy,
It's no suprise when they do t seem to have a home. That stadium is excellent at telling you that it has concerts, the NFL, the sky walk thing. What it doesn't tell you is that it's the home of Tottenham Hotspur. No wonder they seem lost.

Still coming to terms with the Mo Salah announcement, though you sort of felt like it was coming since the Leeds game before Christmas. Glad its been announced now so he can get the send off he deserves, will hopefully galvanise things on and off the pitch to get us to finish the season as strongly as possible.
A genuine club legend with the records, moments, and trophies to go with it.

I must admit, I was actually not that shocked. I think it's the right decision by him to go.
The signings in the summer. Slots attempts to change the system to suit the new players seems to have made him feel like he's been pushed out. His pace has gone, his ability to take on a player has evaporated. It's very unlike him not to be able to adapt to a new way of playing or to able to lead from the From the front.
But, what a player. It's been an honour to be able to have watched this bloke in the stands

A Premier League great no doubt, Chelsea fans must be mad at what they missed out on (with him and De Bruyne). His form did seem to fall off once he signed that new contract last season though, and he's lost something again this season so the right decision for all parties I am sure.

Italy play Bosnia tonight, for a place in the 2026 World Cup; I am not Italian, but I am still rooting for Italy to win because we surely can't have 3 consecutive World Cups without them?
What's crazy is that they won the Euros in 2021 but yet failed to even qualify for the next year's World Cup!
P.S. In my lifetime, there have been two tournaments without England* (1994 and 2008)
I'm too young to remember 1994, but I remember hearing that the other European countries were disappointed that England weren't in 2008, as it meant that so many great players stayed at home (Beckham, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, et al)
I was also surprised that the Euro 2008 matches replaced the soaps (EastEnders and Coronation Street), even though England wasn't in it - although this often happened with Champions League matches anyway, I suppose (even when there were no English teams left in the tournament)
*England almost failed to qualify for 2002, if not for Beckham's free kick against Greece

Try being Scotland...no tournament between 1998 and 2021. Going to be fun to see Scotland at a World Cup after nearly 30 years.

I still remember the England vs Scotland match from 1996
Whenever rivals play each other, it usually makes for an interesting match - although perhaps not, as I remember the England vs Scotland game in 2021 being quite dull
Incredibly, England and Argentina haven't played each other since 2005 (I still remember that match)
I think the England vs Argentina match in 2005 was actually the last time that England defeated a team ranked higher than themselves

2001 UEFA cup semi final. Barcelona V Liverpool. Kick off was delayed by 15 mins.
Crowd trouble. No.
Teams arriving late. No
Lack of a match ball. No
Turnstile issues. No
Weather. No.
The BBC managed to persuade UEFA to delay kick off, so the the conclusion of Who shot Phil Mitchell could be played out at the normal time EastEnders was shown.
The Tele stopping despite the lack of England playing is nothing. Usually, other countries play better football and it's much more entertaining.

Salah was bang average at Chelsea. He had a fair few chances and never stood out. Improved massively during his loan spells in Italy though with consistent football and no Mourinho shackles.
Not too bitter about that one, fair play to him.
De Bruyne though... That really is the one that got away. Never got a sniff because Jose preferred Oscar. Apparently he was in tears begging the manager for more game time. Oscar buggered off to China and KDB became the best midfielder in the world.
Euro 2008 was absolutely brilliant. Loads of great football. Arshavin bursting onto the scene, and that Spanish squad would win any tournament of any era.

My lasting memories of Euro 2008 (besides England failing to qualify) are:-
1) Netherlands thrashing France and Italy in the Group C group of death
2) Turkey's literal last-second goal against Croatia that took the match to penalties (which Turkey won)
3) The spat between Austria (one of the host nations) and Germany - both during the match (both managers sent off), and before the match as well (newspapers slagging each other off); I didn't realise until then that the two nations had bad blood over WW2 and/or WW1
As you say, it was also the start of the unprecedented Spanish trilogy of victories as well

Fun fact, Euro 2008 could have been co-hosted by Scotland and Ireland which would have been a load of fun to imagine, suppose that dream is happening for Euro 2028 so it all turn out right in the end.

Sorry to bring it up but the Chris Iwelumo miss was from that same qualifying campaign wasn't it?
Euro 2008 was also memorable for the weather. There was some huge thunder storms and every other game seemed to be played in torrential rain.

I'm too young to remember that, but I distinctly remember Frank Lampard's disallowed goal in 2010, as well as Sol Campbell's disallowed goals in 1998 and 2004
Even though the 2010 goal was the most egregious refereeing error of the three, I personally remember there being more outrage over the 2004 disallowed goal, because the fault in 2010 was more with FIFA than the referee (for not allowing goal-line technology), whereas the referee in 2004 made a very bad decision (in my opinion)
Also: the fact that Germany went on to score 2 more goals in 2010 led some to believe that England may have lost anyway
The most anger I ever saw was towards an England defeat was David Beckham's red card in 1998, though (not just from the public, but from the rest of the team) - even though I personally thought that a red card was a bit harsh
There was some anger directed towards Cristiano Ronaldo in 2006 as well, although not as severe
