Yeah, I thought about this after I'd made my post above, then just hoped no-one would notice and I'd get away with it. Damn you! They're opening an actual new ride next year. Hex won't be needed for marketing.

We are really quite pedantic, aren’t we?
Welcome to enthusiasts (of any description).

Both sides are pretty awful if I'll be honest. Enthusiasts bitching and Merlin botching; make your pick.

It's not bitching, just constructively criticising.

Aye, though admittedly I've seen more a few wibbles take place in which the constant disappointment from Merlin and that nothing seems to be getting better has made many give up constructive criticism as they feel they aren't being heard and have nothing to do but bitch about it.It's not bitching, just constructively criticising.
I've done that already that too and Hex is very much something to bitch about and for good reason this and the previous season.

saw this tweet from Alton a couple days ago, of course it doesn't mean it 100% will, but I can't help but think it is a positive sign they haven't decided to delay it.

I love that they said later this Autumn as it’s the 1st day of Autumn.
They not even said the start of the Scarefest event.
If it wasn’t for this forum and vloggers you wouldn’t know it was closed from the Hex information page on the website

It should be listed on the rides page that it’s reopening in 2024.

Journey deep inside the legendary Towers with Hex: an incredible multimedia experience... but be careful not to unearth the curse beneath!

It has been listed on the temporary closures page all year, along with skyride.

Ride and Attraction availability | Alton Towers Resort
We want you to have an unforgettable fantastical escape to our Theme Park

Or do you mean it should mention it on the ride description page? Again Skyride would then also fall into that category. Does seem a bit disingenuous having rides on the attraction list that have been closed all year and one that is definitely not opening. For all intents and purposes they don't exist.

They've got to be careful with their wording here, as "early Autumn" is September, "mid-Autumn" is October, and "late Autumn" is November.

Just in time for fireworks! Then 4 months for it to have a well deserved rest.

I'd really like to hope they're trying for an October 11th re-opening date with this!

You realise fireworks is a 3 day event? Hex usually works for 0.87 days so we might get it for the Friday.Just in time for fireworks! Then 4 months for it to have a well deserved rest.

You joke, but I suspect this is exactly the plan. They clearly don't expect it to last long when it does open, hence they are holding off for the busier Halloween period and maybe fireworks. Then hopefully over the closed season they can implement a fix that does allow it to operate for more than a week or so at a time.Just in time for fireworks! Then 4 months for it to have a well deserved rest.
