Kentucky Kingdom: General Discussion

Hopefully they'll retain the current social media team
Well they've deleted a Tweet replying to the Silver Dollar City account last night, so maybe they have all been sacked...!!
Silver Dollar's reply remains though, cinnamon bread themed RMC Raptor confirmed!

Kentucky Kingdom is getting the famous cinnamon bread following its acquisition by Herschend:
I know cinnamon bread has a lot of fans, so it should hopefully be something for you to look forward to on your next visit to Kentucky Kingdom!

That email is clearly lying. T3 is not beloved. The park have sent out an email confirming T3 is no more.
Would have been nice to see the newer trains on it to extend its life a bit, but ah well.

I wasn't aware of its reputation when I rode it and found it fine. No headbanging with the vest restraints and don't remember it being unbearably rough.

Rode it last summer, the restraints were awful. Got tighter and tighter as the ride went round. Felt like it was cutting off circulation to my legs.
Bit of a weird few years for Kentucky Kingdom since they reopened they'd been adding rides with a consistent basis. Since they were acquired by Herschend all I know of is they added a fantastic cinnamon bread shop.

According to amusement-rides.com, it appears that someone has bought T3.

I mean… good luck to them? They’ll surely have to at least do something about those trains.

Visited here just over a week ago and just wanted to briefly share my thoughts.
Overall it’s a decent park, nothing ‘wow’ about it but good enough for a smaller regional park.
One of the strongest points for me was the fact that the water park is included in your ticket price and its location centrally in the park meant you could keep swapping between rides and waterslides (you just need to remember to take a T-shirt to go on the rides). When we were there it was about 32 degrees so pretty hot and there wasn’t a great deal of shade so was refreshing to be able to get in the water easily.
Something that could be worked on though, and I assume is in part to the closure of T3, is that there are quite a few ‘dead’ areas with just long paths and nothing there. Feel like they need some smaller rides or just something to look at whilst going down the paths. There is a path near the rapids that this was particularly noticeable on.
To summarise, if you’re in the area it’s worth visiting but I don’t think it’s worth a special trip to it.

It's an odd park currently, under the old management they were very much build new coasters every few years to bring in the customers. Seemed like they cancelled an RMC raptor due to the pandemic. But with Storm Chaser and Lightning Run it's a tremendous top 2 coasters.
Been all sorts of rumours of investment coming from Herschend the past few months so hopefully it'll kick in soon.
