Looks like people are starting to do some crazy things with the Lego coaster track. such as using a pair of curves SNOTed on their side to transition in to a vertical drop. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/in...-three-loopings-using-the-lego-coaster-track/ Although there have been one or two cuts to the track in places, I'm still impressed.
Some of the techniques employed in that build are really cool! The idea of turning the track pieces sideways to create more severe drops, and those (admittedly unrealistic, but still cleverly designed) inversions is genuinely brilliant. Very impressive indeed.
I started making a vertical loop, but there's not enough pieces in the roller coaster set to do it Think I'll go on Bricklink and order some more track...
Not purist (uses 3rd party track), but still pretty epic: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/171730-digger-construction-roller-coaster/
There's a very nice design for a kiddy mine train on Ideas at the moment... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b85f394e-f73f-4bac-a37d-894792d39c7c
It’s not quite a Roller Coaster, but perhaps equally interesting/unique. Essentially it’s a Haunted House with a drop tower in the middle, making it part of the fairground sub-theme. Strongly reminds me of Tower Of Terror and the Haunted Mansion, not to mention Lego’s own Monster Party attraction. Plenty of references to 90’s/00’s themes if anyone remembers those.
It's Lego priced. I didn't think it would go over £200 though. But I guess with the dropping mechanism it had to be.
First time I've seen it below £300 today (£299.99 in Smyth's) so have indulged. Won't be doing anything with it until house move is done though. I have uncovered six sets that I never opened that according to Brick Economy are worth a grand altogether, so when I get around to flogging those I will feel less bad.
Congrats, you saved 1p. Seriously though, I'd love to get it but unless it gets a lot, lot cheaper I'll have to wait.
£250 on Amazon at the moment, can't imagine it will go much less. Glad I paid £300 on it, it's still in the garage
