Board a boat for a voyage through the darkened tunnels of the The Castle Dungeon and come face to face with a host of creepy crawlies from rats to spiders and bats hanging from the rafters, all made from Lego of course. Its also said that trolls and skeletons lurk within the darkened tunnels, dare you visit The Castle Dungeon?

Opening Soon with a re-imagined Knights Kingdom.

Attraction Information

The refurbished Skyrider has re-opened today once again transporting guests between the upper and lower park from The Beginning Station to The Lego Movie World Station. Guests can now travel in enclosed silver gondolas holding upto four per group (double the original capacity) Photos to follow.

Due to the construction of The Castle Dungeon, the Whirly Rig (Pirate Shores) is currently unavailable due to building works. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Unavailable Attractions
  • The Dragon
  • The Hill Train (Knights Kingdom Station)
  • Castle Carousel
  • Whirly Rig

Attraction Spotlight: Skyrider

The Skyrider is the second transportation system in the Park after The Hill Train and was built as an extra method of moving guests between the upper and lower areas of the park due to the stream train getting very long wait times. The attraction re-opened yesterday after having a major re-fit involving the replacement of all the ski-lift style gondolas to enclosed gondolas which now hold upto four people. Peeps can board the Skyrider from The Beginning for a one way ride to The Lego Movie World and vice-versa.

Attraction Information

Knights Kingdom:

Knights Kingdom re-opens this weekend with new and improved attractions:

  • The Dragon - Mostly unchanged apart from the amoury scene being slightly smaller due to the construction of The Castle Dungeon queue-line.
  • King's Carousel - Previously the Castle Carousel, the name was changed as not to sound too similar to The Castle Dungeon, the canopy of the attraction has also had a new colour palette.
  • Knights Table - This quick service restaurant has moved locations inside the castle to make way for the exit to The Castle Dungeon.
  • NEW: The Castle Dungeon - NOW OPEN! Venture into the depths of the castle and encounter LEGO bats, spiders and rats as you sail through the darkened tunnels.
  • The Hill Train (Knights Kingdom Station) - The queue line has been slightly shortened to make way for the entrance of The Castle Dungeon, the back of the station is now enclosed due to the new show building.
Pirate Shores:
Over in Pirate Shores, work has been under way around the Whirly Rig attraction which has been temporarily closed due to the construction of The Castle Dungeon, a new small attraction has also appeared!

  • NEW: LEGO Duplo Happy Harbour: A new pirate themed play area has been built next to the Whirly Rig attraction, now a part of the Happy Harbour. The walls of The Castle Dungeon show building have been themed to a pirate town to blend in with Pirate Shores. (Pirate Shores is located on the back side of the show building).
  • Pirate Falls: New LEGO models have been added to the layout and the rides loading system has been speeded up to allow for a quicker throughput. The photo kiosk has been moved to the other side of the path and has been built onto The Castle Dungeon show building. Body dryers have been added to the exit of the attraction.

LEGO CITY Refurbishment

The time has come for me to take on my biggest project yet within Legoland Planet Coaster Resort. Lately I've been going back over the original lands of the park to add finishing details and new attractions to the areas, also going back over spots I've missed during the original build. It's now time for me to tackle the very first land that was built when I created the park, which just so happens to be the biggest. I've never been completely happy with LEGO CITY, it never seemed to be fully completed so I'm taking this opportunity to bring it up to scratch. During this project the entire land will be closed off to guests which will mean 5 pretty large attractions will be unavailable. I've left this until now while I opened the latest new additions so the park doesn't struggle too much while it's closed. LEGO CITY currently consists of:

Attractions
  • Coastguard HQ - Mission: Rescue - A family water coaster where riders join the LEGO CITY Coastguard as they tackle the ocean to save lives.
  • LCPD Forest Pursuit - A wild mouse style rollercoaster through the LEGO CITY Forest. Guests board a high speed Police vehicle to help catch the crooks.
  • LEGO CITY Airport - There's high winds across LEGO CITY but don't worry, the Airport is still open! Hold on tight as your plane manoeuvres 360 degree inversions.
  • LEGO CITY Express - All aboard the (not so) high speed train as you travel high above LEGO CITY.
  • The Great Lego Race - Start your engines! Design your own vehicle before taking it for a spin around the LEGO CITY raceway.
Food, Drink and Retail
  • Fire Academy Hot Dogs
  • Finish Line Photos
  • Coastguard Store
  • Pilot Licence Pick-Up
  • Legoland Coffee Co. Proudly brews Streetfox Coffee

I've yet to decide if any new attractions will be added to LEGO CITY during this time, however there is a plot of land I have my eye on! If anyone's got any questions or feedback it would be greatly received!

*Duplo Invasion!*

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that Legoland Planet Coaster Resort doesn't have a Duplo themed area for little guests. Surprisingly the land has actually been in place since the park was built but it's remained walled off as I've never decided how I wanted it to look...but now the newer Legoland Parks have come to the rescue.

New Legoland Parks such as Legoland New York are not being built with Duplo lands, instead Duplo style attractions are being spread around the park and integrated into other areas so families get stay together throughout the day as opposed to half going around the park and half staying in the children's area. This is the route I've decided to go down for Legoland Planet Coaster Resort.

As you may have noticed, Duplo Happy Harbour opened in Pirate Shores this month and others are expected to open around the park in the coming months, including Duplo City Wharf Splash & Play coming to the re-imagined Lego City.

Keep your eyes peeled as I reveal more information and photos of these new attractions in the coming weeks.

*Park Information*

Pizza Pen in Heartlake City and Mexelente in Adventure Land will close in the near future to make way for a new Pizza & Pasta Buffet Restaurant. The new restaurant will sit on the border and be accessible from both lands. When entering from Heartlake City guests will enter City Walk Pizza & Pasta and from Adventure Land the Pizza & Pasta Outpost.

Updates to follow.

*Construction Update*

The fences are up, the cranes are up and work is progressing well over in Lego City as the area is closed for it's enhancements. It's going to be a while until the area re-opens for guests so I thought I'd give you guys a little sneak peek behind the construction walls to see whats going on. Obviously you don't know what it looked like before, but even in this one image eagle eyed Legoland Planet Coaster guests would notice a few changes! I'll post before and after photos when the renovations are completed.

  • Inspired by Legoland New York, Lego City now has it's very own Hollywood style sign high up on the hill to attract minifigures from far and wide!
  • Coastguard HQ - Mission: Rescue has seen a lot more than a lick of paint! The original grey boats have been re-painted a vibrant orange to match the rides theme colours, now easily seen while out at sea. Speaking of which, theming elements have been added to the coaster section of the ride, you'll now pass a larger than life Jellyfish and Sharks as you speed across the ocean on your rescue mission. Lastly, the Control Room scene at the base of the lift hill has now been fully enclosed to allow extra effects before the lift.
Keep your eyes peeled for more updates coming soon, rumour has it a new attraction may be coming to Lego City after all...

This park does look great I must say, I can't wait to get back into Planet Coaster!

Sorry for the long gap between posts guys, I've been really busy lately so I've had a break from Planet Coaster. I will be back soon though :)

*Park Update*
It's been all go over at Legoland as the Planet Coaster Resort has been gearing up for a busy summer season! All of the projects from my last update have been completed as well as some new ones!;
  • You'll now find a refreshed City Walk Pizza & Pasta buffet restaurant in Heartlake City or if a quick bite is what you're after you'll find takeaway pizza & pasta at the Pizza & Pasta Outpost in Adventureland!
  • The DUPLO Invasion continues to spread across the Resort, reserved for the smallest minifigures, you'll find DUPLO play areas in the Pirates Landing, Lego City and The Lego Movie World areas of the park.
  • We may be in the midst of a heatwave but you'll now be able to experience one year round with new body dryers now available at the exits to the Ninjago River Quest, Pirate Falls and Coastguard HQ - Mission: Rescue! attractions.
  • It's thirsty work saving the day in Lego City, don't forget to stop off at the new City Slush Station to quench your thirst! You'll find it across from Construction Co. Skyline Climb.
(Does anyone know a good website to upload photos, Tinypic doesn't work anymore, thanks.)
