As far as I’m aware it will be the larger model, so the same size as Hex.An artist impression of the inside of the 2019 mad house vault has been posted by the park:
Glad to see it looks like it'll be the larger ride variant.
However I imagine the budget will be far less than Hex was!

Might not be too far off actually, Hex was done for relatively little money. They already had most their building to play with and the Towers restorations were paid for separately due to the planning agreement.

The good thing with Hex is you can’t see the actual ride building at all (unless they use the rubbish fire exit when the towers are closed).
Which would have saved a lot of money.
The issue with Legoland is that it’s built in the middle of the park, which can be seen from all over the park. It would have been far better built on the edge of the park rather than the middle. Then you can spend the money on making the front look good, but won’t have to worry about the rest of the building.

Basically theme park design rule #1. Hide the show building at the edge of the park so you only have to theme one side and the guests never see the warehouse.
Merlin seem to ignore this if the Ninjago building is anything to go by.

The position of this ride is totally bizarre and there are much better places it could have surely gone.
It has concreted right over one of the few remaining open scenic spaces in the park. It's crammed between major rides with no transitional space and a shoved-in queue. The ugly building is visible from all angles and (as usual) no money has been spent to make it look better.
It takes all Legoland's current major issues for guest experience (no room to breath, careless cheap looking park) and makes them worse. Just hope the inside is entertaining for once!

The front and interior looks pleasantly adequate and I have no issue with those what’s so ever.
As for the ‘exposed’ warehouse/out of house areas, it is disappointing and a poor show. The painted models only add further insult to this, especially knowing they will never rectify this (at least Merlin anyway).
There are so many ways they could’ve concealed the warehouse building and made it considerably more eye pleasing. This includes:
The result here is what I would expect from a small regional park like Oakwood or Pleasurewood Hills. Not a company that ‘brag’ about being ‘world class’ and often forgot the important little things, as a result.

- Building bigger/more themed facades to conceal the building and making it look much more like a Haunted House from the outside, Ala Symbolica, Volatarium
- More shrubbery/vegetarian to hide and conceal the ride building
- Built the ride further towards the edges of the park, where these areas would be less exposed and noticeable in the park

I know that poorly themed facades probably fall into the category of 'first world problems', and also that this isn't finished yet, but this does seem like a disappointing effort for the UK's most visited theme park. The Legoland parks have always managed to attract similar visitor numbers to some of the resort parks, but with smaller capital investments. I guess that's why Merlin is so keen on the Lego brand. But it can't be a good business strategy to rely too much on the Lego brand to carry the parks. If anything ever happens to the popularity of Lego, they need the parks to be able to carry themselves in their own right.
The artists impression further up the page does look very nice, even if it doesn't scream Lego. I hope that once you're inside it will be an entertaining and immersive attraction. It looks like this will be the only major investment in the UK theme park industry next year, so I really, really want this to be something good. I certainly haven't given up on this project. A haunted swing might well be a good ride to showcase the Lego humour that has made the films successful. But those pictures don't exactly make the heart sing.

Efteling gets over double the amount of visitors that LLW does, though, so a building like Symbolica's would probably be out of LLW's price range.Dear Legoland,
This is how you create a fully themed facade and hide the vast majority of ride building which can be seen from numerous angles.

And Legoland's building looks really nice too, if you ask me! I like how they've painted Lego characters on to the side of the warehouse; and besides, it's not finished yet! So it'll probably look even better when it's done!

I think this is the basis of the problem. It’s a warehouse. Most other theme parks would make some effort to disguise this fact. Look at Duel, Haunted Mansion, Bubbleworks, Geisterschloss; they’re all well disguised warehouses.
In this case there’s clearly not even an intention to try and disguise the warehouse - the fact that they’re walloped the sides with a bit of paint shows exactly that.

35 million Euros? And Legoland/Merlin couldn't afford a decent facade? And even then the sides and back end of the Symbolica building aren't exactly the prettiest things in the world (more to do with having a building THAT large right smack bang in the centre of the park, but at least they did hide it)...

Efteling don't claim to be second to Disney; Merlin do. Yet look at the quality on offer between the two...
No amount of graffiti'd Lego characters is going to make a dull, black tin shed look good. This is one turd that cannot be polished.

Jeeez it's sad to see how far concept art has fallen , compare this to the hex art work....
because if you do you'll also see that it lines up near perfect, and that it was used to trace over!
