Legoland Windsor

So I had a look at Legolands Tripadvisor for the past few days. Good luck to what ever poor sod has to reply to all of them is all I say! It’s really not good reading, from poor operations, closed rides, long queues, closed food outlets to dirty and tired looking areas.

So they’ve had 12 reviews for 19th April, with 7 1 star reviews, and nothing over a 3!

Meanwhile yesterday they had 31 reviews, with 21 1 star reviews!

Chessie and Thorpe is a bit similar but certainly no where near as negative. Towers on the other hand is quite positive, except for the pods which seem to be getting a right roasting!

But with them being sold out today and most likely tomorrow, why bother trying is there attitude they can’t squeeze more people in than already willing to go despite how bad people say it is

Not quite sure what you’re saying here - on the one hand, you acknowledge that people are slating the park at the moment, yet on the other you seem to suggest the park are being lazy by not allowing gate numbers to just grow and grow...

They have a capacity to the park , if they are hitting that capacity with a poorly operated and run down looking park what’s it matter to them , they are hitting the figures and bringing the cash for the share holders why waste money on the park if figures are being hit

If they provide a bad experience to a full capacity crowd then they're making a bad impression on thousands of people which will damage their business in the long run. Loss of repeat visits, bad word of mouth, online reviews etc.

But that’s the problem with modern business if it brings the money they will keep selling as they do , look at Hermes awful service most complained about yet fastest growing in uk at present ( mainly due to there tie in with EBAY even if that’s not publicly know) but until people stop using them they will carry on there pore practices

I think even merlin are better than Hermes!

Have to wonder about the decision making process or utter lack of, park totally sold out in advance and takes of food and drink outlets completely shut?!?

Is there an option for merlin pass holders to pre book?

Haunted House has now proceeded to be closed again all day. LEGOLAND really need to get this rides problems sorted soon because this is not good for them at all!

Wickerman started 2018 in exactly the same way... unreliable first few weeks, silence from Merlin, eventually they got it running relative smoothly.
I suspect it is a side effect of Merlins approach. They are happy to iron out the flaws once it is open.
Not the most customer-centric maybe, but it will all be forgotten by the 2020 season.

Monster Party was open today! In my opinion a budget hex with possibly a slightly better ride cycle. My only real fault would be that the sound quality in the valult is terrible..... Sounds like cheap speakers turned up say to loud ...oh also the outdoor cattle pen que boils in the sun due to the floor material they use.

Bank Holiday Monday crowds were fairly light and had a lovley day overall, far better than Chessington when we went on Friday . Was genraly impressed by the park but thought mini land was very run down and needed a lot of rebuilding of the older models like the space center and Netherlands

Can’t believe there’s no cover over the queue area.

Still, there’s not on room on the broom, or anything to see or play with in the queue line.

Legoland Windsor just featured on TV! One of the stunt performers from the pirate show was on Ninja Warrior UK on ITV. :p

I've just booked to go next week with my nephews (ages 2 & 6) now I know that the older will have a lot more to do but will there be much for the 2 year old? I'm concerned that he will feel left out if his brother is doing everything without him! website doesn't seem to be much help either.

Difficult to say as most rides are height restricted rather than age restricted, I would say that very few theme park rides cater to under 4’s but there are a few non-ride attractions at Legoland to enjoy for sure.

There are a lot of rides that anyone can go on with Adult supervision. From memory that includes Atlantis, Fairy Tale Brook, Boating School, Ballon School, Duplo Valley (although Drench Towers is not always open at the start of the season), the fair rides in Kingdom of the Pharos and there are probably others.
The parks target demographic is 2 to 12. Once they reach 0.9m they can almost do everything.

So we popped to Legoland last Friday on the way to Thorpe, my god what a mistake that was.

I can now see why they are getting constant 1 star reviews on tripadvisor. The park was fairly busy, however I’ve seen it worse. But it didn’t help that there were plenty of closed rides, with no sign of anything happening to them, my personal opinion is they are short staffed and can’t afford to open all rides, as some rides seem to open one day and be closed the next.

It was a warm day yet the log flume and squid surfer were closed all day.

Queue boards were complete wrong across the park, ninjago said 20 mins, we queued 40 and when we got off it still said 20 yet it was in all its extensions. The ride was great however the queue line is looking very tired with peeling paint all over the place.

However the worse thing of all was food and drink options, or lack of them, it’s fine to close food outlets on a dead 4pm ride close when the parks empty, but when the park is rammed to have more closed outlets than open ones is not acceptable.

I would say the majority of all kiosks were closed across the park, which meant getting a snack was impossible, large indoor restaurants like the castle restaurant and fish and chips were closed all day, which meant places like burger kitchen had a queue all the way out the door and across the area.

Even the queue bot kiosks were closed!

It seems this season Merlin are running the place to the ground, and they deserve every single awful review they get online, I certainly won’t be returning any time soon. In comparison we then went to Thorpe where the majority of all outlets and rides were open, and that was park was really quiet of guests!
