Legoland will resume group bookings for up to 30 people. Not massively convinced this is COVID Secure, let alone COVID Sensible.

Not directly affecting Legoland, but a wildfire has broken out on Clapham Common, near Windsor. It's so big it can be seen from Central London, and 10 fire engines are on the scene.

World of Wonder, or not (never had a bad day there, personally) ... this is wonderful.

Fantastic customer service. It can't be argued. That really is top notch. That parent clearly very happy.
Have to say I was appalled at the customer service on my one and only visit to lego land last year. Staff were overworked, often looked stressed and not in control and clearly weren't being supported with adequate training or supervision. It was a total shambles quite frankly. It made me want to never go back it was that bad.

Just watched the programme. Was fantastic, absolutely fascinating. Cannot wait till next week!
I think Legoland has the best customer service of any Merlin park.

It didn't on my visit. I'd say it was the worst I have ever encountered.
Don't think you can judge off this documentary either. The staff clearly know they are being filmed so will ensure they are on their A game. Who wouldn't.
The main issue with the park is it simply can't handle the amount of people it attracts. The rides don't have high enough capacity and also they seems to have more breakdowns than I would describe as average. If you read the trip advisor reviews which I do regularly you'd know that ride reliability is abysmal. That's not the front line staffs fault but there's definitely issues in the maintenance team. There has to be.

That’s a massive assumption to make though. Guests will never know why a ride has gone down - it’s just “closed due to technical difficulties” as far as they’re aware. But, those could be genuine ride technical difficulties, or (as shown in this program) guest difficulties with people entering restricted areas, or standing up on rides, both of which would result in e-stops, evacs and maintenance needing to reset. If you read the trip advisor reviews which I do regularly you'd know that ride reliability is abysmal. That's a brilliant post and I'm over the moon that they'd take so much effort to make someone's day.World of Wonder, or not (never had a bad day there, personally) ... this is wonderful.

I too have just watched Ep 1 of Inside Legoland and thought it was fabulous. A fantastic insight into the Resort showing a wide range of departments and rides. Really interesting.

The day I visited 5 of the biggest 6 rides had issues all day. And the Haunted House ride new for 2019 was meant to be open and was shut.
After looking on trip advisor reviews it seemed many of the rides had been causing them trouble for a while leading up to our visit.
The reviews from 2019 speak for themselves. You can't sugar coat it. They were awful and a true reflection on the park last year. I can't comment on what it was like years ago as I never visited then but I can honestly say that it was by far my worst ever day at a Merlin owned park and one of the worst at Any park. It was a shambles.

But again, you're assuming that these are all technical issues. Which, to be fair, for the new ride could well be accurate - we all know how plagued with technical difficulties new rides can (not always, but can) be.The day I visited 5 of the biggest 6 rides had issues all day. I'm not saying that the amount of rides going down is acceptable, far from it, and you're right the TripAdvisor reviews are a sorry sight. I just take issue with your assumption that it must be the maintenance team's fault - they could work as hard as they like, doing their best to keep technical faults at bay, but if an operator feels it necessary to stop running a ride for any reason they will, and much of the time that might not be related to the mechanics of the ride at all.

It just seems to be reoccurring theme with the park. They are definitely plagued with their greater share of downtime from the research I have done into it. Is that all down to bad luck? Or are the rides not being looked after and maintained to a high standard? I doubt we will ever know.
However I will never be returning on a peak day that's for sure. Too many people, not enough high capacity rides and questionable ride reliability.

I thought the documentary was good! Less staged and sanitised than I was expecting. I still think the most insightful and true to life theme park documentary is Magic Factory or the Blackpool Pleasure Beach ones. But this was so much better than the recent Wicker Man one which was so badly thrown together.
Looking forward to next episode!

a key thing in that post is that it was the entertainment staff that went off with the kid to entertain him.
A ride op will more likely be overworked and cannot leave their post to assist in the way portrayed here. This could have been a very different post if the parent spoke to the host on the ride entrance and was just told come back at 6.30 and we’ll retrieve the hat.

Just read the reviews from Saturday and Sunday. Doesn't sound like anything has changed from my visit whatsoever. Broken rides, stupidly long queues that don't move quick, park overcrowded (what happened to restricted numbers) and fast pass sales galore.
It's a fabulous brand but it's an awful theme park. Not fit for purpose. Unless you happen to visit on an off peak day or can afford to fork out for q jump then I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
And a park aimed mainly at primary school aged children should be fine to visit in peak periods as that's the only time they are legally allowed to go.
