I mean if it was that much of an issue, could you not just get out the boat, you are in a very safe area there to do so.

I do not condone breaking park rules at all. But if it was a cooler day, being stuck like that could have dangerous consequences in the form of hyperthermia, so getting out of the boat would take precedence. Here though, that would not fly as it is a warm day.

She says in the comments they were told to stay in the boat and they had an elderly passenger. Also that they couldnā€™t turn the spray off.

You can see itā€™s a safe area when the mechanics arrive though, Iā€™d definitely be sitting on the bank.
 
If it was cooler day I would be too. I am the one, by law, who is legally responsible for the safety and wellbeing of my child, not the park. So if they took there time, in the cooler weather, I would do what I need to do, to keep my child safe.
