Lightwater Valley

Surely it makes no sense for the ride to be there already? It's a travelling ride so could easily have been on the circuit until the spring?
Not too many large fairs between now and spring in the UK aside from the established winter wonderlands and valentines fairs. Makes sense to get it onsite if it's been out of the country for a while and checked over before opening.

So most of spinning racers is there now and there’s pictures of it floating around, can’t remember how to upload them on here. I can’t help wondering what will be next to arrive. My thinking is that if they are starting this early then they must be planning on quite a few additions over the next few months.

More likely transporting it from wherever to the yard and then to LWV was more expensive than transporting it from wherever directly to LWV.

I know it did Luxembourg but not sure where else it was regularly at

Yeah I agree, it's all about financial efficiency, I imagine Mellors have inherited somewhat of a mess and they need things to market with the lowest possible cost of operation.
I think they're going to have a similar strategy here to what they've got at Fantasy Island which does work for them, however I do think they will have to be careful at how they do that and how they market it. Skegness generally thrives on tacky, while I'm not sure this is the case for Lightwater, and so I imagine a whole new marketing strategy will be needed alongside making these temporary rides look less fairground(y).

It's a real shame Eagles Claw was flogged as I'm sure Mellors would have been happy to have at least one thrill ride left at the park.. I wonder if they can bring in a travelling alternative

Yes and no. It had been there for years. It was decent, but not the attract it had once been. A clean slate gives them the ability to reinvent the park as they see, imagine they stuck a drop tower or something similar in that space, people would forget eagles claw really quickly.

They have an opportunity to do a small scale version of what John Broom did with Alton towers in the 80s - turn heads and make fun fun again. What the issue with the merlin parks is is rising prices dropping quality, and a feeling of just being 'stale.'

This could be a Lazarus moment where we watch something quite special happening. They have the resources to do whatever they need to do with it, and the opportunity as some of the middle east contracts are ending, and it could bring them a reliable and increasing revenue, if they hit the ground running.

There is so much potential in that park, and I hope they realise it.

I suppose one of the attractive things about having LWV is that less is held gathering dust in storage, and it may well be that some rides are brought in for peak season then leave for the fair circuit. Sounds like that might be the approach that the new owners of PWH might have and maybe it's no worse than Alton towers not running certain rides in quiet times in the season.
